You guys are idiots!  Grin

Which freedom fighter does not keep money to arm himself, settle political spizzle-spazzle etc?

Asari is a bonafide idealist. Infact, he is fighting for your rights as well.  Cool

What do olodos like tkb and MrCrackles know about the main premise behind the Niger Delta bruhaha.  Grin

The fight has always been about reworking the constitution and enabling a return to Federalism.

As Asari said: "A National Conference is the minimum we will accept in exchange for dropping our weapons."

Any militant who is giving up arms in exchange for amnesty is exposing himself as a charlatan. We always knew Ateke, Soboma et al were only interested in protecting their ill-gotten gains, hence they accepted the amnesty. These two are the most murderous militants in the Niger-Delta. This amnesty spizzle-spazzle will show you who the real freedom fighters are and who the common criminals are, and this seperates the wheat from the chaff.

As long as the underlying causes of militancy (resource control, environmental degradation etc) are not addressed, every militant who accepts amnesty will be replaced by a new militant.

IMO, this is just a Govt ploy to isolate the militants, and kill the real freedom fighters who are fighting for real causes under the excuse that "We offered them amnesty but they refused, so their treatment is justified."

An amnesty is used to placate criminals. Justice is used to placate freedom fighters.

I am fully behind Asari on this. There is no amnesty until there is a Sovereign National Conference!

Quote from: dnex on June 26, 2009, 02:02 PM
Can you imagine somebody that says he's a business man, he hears that government want to share money to militants and now he is putting himself among those whom the amnesty is meant for. Has he not been released from detention? Has he not been freed? Wetin concern am with amnesty again?

If he wants amnesty, he has to carry arms back to the creeks in order to re-criminalise himself.

As for this bovine-brained Dnex  -  what do you think amnesty means?

Asari is entitled to amnesty if he wants (which he doesnt) even if he hasnt held a gun for the last 3 years. Amnesty is 'freedom from prosecution' for illegal sturvs, even if it was committed 15 years ago. That means that under law, you cannot be tried for any sins and the slate is wiped clean. As it stands, Asari can be pulled up before the court for shit he did even 10 years ago.

Yardua made a big mistake negotiating with criminals/terrorists masquerading as freedom fighters. Whats happening is like nigeria being kidnaped by these "militants" and them demanding ransome from the treasury.

Paying up will be big mistake number 2; as far from solving the crisis, they will keep blowing up pipes etc, just to get even more money. I believe the president should treat them militants as the isrealis do with hamas. Pound them into submission, irrespective of the number of years it takes.

Various copycat criminals mushrooming around the s/s s/e have turnd these regions into den of theives; ppl there living in contant fear of kidnapping/mugging, etc. God help us.

You are a fig leaf!
I know the back hands from Dokubo pays for your internet subscription, mumu like you! Tongue
We know freedom fighters keep monies to arm themselves, but does that explain Asari's trip to Germany?
I am not saying he shouldnt go to Germany, but where the money came from is what i am questioning
Or should we assume the funds he got to protect himself, was funnelled into the germany trip, thereby leaving himself vulnerable to attacks? Shocked

But real soon, that ever-rewarding formula of abduction for ransome and oil bunkering for personal gains albielt screamin JUSTICE would be met with real justice.

This issue reminds me of nothing but of Fela's track "Animal Talk don start again". The use of grammer logic. What is Amnesty? who is the Criminal and what is the offence? If at all its an offence, why is the Federal Government Government granting amnesty to the so called criminals?
Just like Fela said "Who get human right, and who dey give human right", Who is been cheated, and who is granting amnesty?

We should all wake up from this Grammatical magic and face the fact. There is nothing like anyone granting amnesty to anyone. If the Federal Government are so sincere with their cause, they should order a halt-in-exploration to all the oil company operating in that region, and redesign  a formal term of operation that will benefit the people of the region.

I rest my fingers!

All the so called militants should be lured in, lined up and executed. Including Asari the business mogul.

The venue housing all the opportunistic, jollof loving "big men" - Yar'Adua, Ibori, governors (present and past),
senators  - should then be the target of a twenty-five thousand pound precision-guided missile. Let them all burn
in hell.

Simply put, we desperately need to get rid of this generation of goons! They are ALL our major
problem and things will NEVER change with them around.

@Bawolomo. Without a doubt, I'ld gladly recommend the immediate deployment of loads of titilatin "toto" to the niger delta Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy, but that would be a hard sell as a substitute for a thriving career in militancy.

We wouldn't want to replicate the Abacha demise on the entire community.

Fellow Nigerians, don't be deceived by the cheap propaganda coming from these terrorists. It is in bad taste and totally mumbled up, so I expect the average man to see through their lies.

My first worry when I heard about Asari Dokubo trip to Germany, I began to project my mind towards the arrival of a plane load of weapons to Nigeria some days back. I just wonder.

Well, people are ignorant; very many people are unlearned.

They say Asari Dokubo is an idealist, but I don't deny that. Islamic idealism can easily lead to terrorism.

They say he's interested in the Souvereign National Conference, then let us know the individual whom his people aspire to have at the conference. Perhaps himself. Does he know what a souvereign  national conference is? Does he know how the members of the souvereign national conference are 'selected'? So has he asked himself whether the National Assembly is the Souvereign National Conference and the method used to elect the members of this national assembly is the same process that would be used to select the members of this souvereign national conference. That other tout, Gani Adams while defining the souvereign national conference also mentioned that if he is not a member, he will not accept anything that comes from the conference. And let's say we're going to have a referendum to select the members of this conference, will it not be rigged?

The SNC is for those that cannot share the money through the right door. They now want to get there through a back door.

Alh. Asari Dokubo was trained by Islamic Militants in North Africa to become a terrorist, but he just loved money a little more than anything else.

He speaks with glee about the joys of bunkering crude. At least FG has embarked on some projects in the Niger-Delta communities from crude sales. What have the terrorists done for their communities with the kidnap and bunkering cash?

Ibime, surely you don't believe a word Asari said, otherwise you have ashes in your skull.
