The official map of biafra

even if the igbos are land lock. there do not need the seaport of nigeria. you see 200 nautical mile from nigeria is international waters. they can build a seaport on the international water and use cargo plane to carry the goods and service to biafra. sorry the igbos do not need to pay nigeria any money.

Universities in biafra

Abia State University Uturu [1]

Anambra State University formerly Anambra State University Of Science And Technology, Uli

Caritas University, Enugu

Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
Enugu State University Of Science And Technology Enugu [4]

Federal University of Technology Owerri

Imo State University Owerri

Madonna University (Nigeria) Okija

Michael Okpara Federal University of Agriculture Umudike

Renaissance University Agbani [8]

St. Paul's University College, Awka Anambra

University of Nigeria Nsukka

[[Gil University Of Technology, Aba Abia State

this is what would remain of nigeria.

It could probably end up this way, if the Biafrans would remove the issue of minority/majority, but if they fail to reach out to other tribes in the region then the map would change, am 1000% sure Benue would go with Biafra this time around cause they have more cultural affiliation with former Eastern region.

Two Members Of The Federal House Of Reps Exchange Blows
« on: June 26, 2009, 08:19 AM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sedate chambers of the Nigerian House of Representatives erupted into excitement on Thursday afternoon, after two members of the House exchanged blows during the plenary session of the House.

The Reps, Bernard Udoh (PDP, Akwa Ibom) and Chukwuka Onyema (PDP, Anambra) had, midway into the session, exchanged hot words over an issue which could not be ascertained. They later moved to the lobby to continue with the argument because they were already causing distraction in the chamber.

At the lobby, the lawmakers exchanged blows before the Chief Whip, Emeka Ihedioha, came out from the chamber to intervene.

Journalists covering the proceedings of the House, who noticed the fight and attempted to separate the combatants, were barred by officials from the office of the Serjeant-At-Arms from doing so.

The security officials rough-handled the Channels and The Guardian reporters and chased away onlookers who also attempted to intervene.

Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs,

Eseme Eyiboh who later briefed newsmen on the matter, explained that the fight was a result of "a minor misunderstanding over a normal issue in the Chamber".

Press matters

Meanwhile, the House also took steps to assuage the demands of the Nigerian media in the face of the lawmakers' refusal to pass the Freedom of Information Bill.

At Thursday's sitting, "A Bill for an Act to provide for the Repeal of the Nigerian press Council Act, 1992 and Establish the Nigerian Press and Practice of Journalism Council, to promote High Professional Standards for the Nigerian press, and Deal with Complaints Emanating from members of the public about the conduct of journalism and Media Houses in their professional capacity, or Complaints Emanating from press about the conduct of persons, organisations or Institution of government towards the press and the matter connected therein,'' scaled the second reading.

You actually believe that it is only people on Nairaland that are showing support for the secession of Nigeria. Look at the news my friend the split has already begun.

Some idiots never learn. Uwazurike or whatever he is called should ask Nigerians in the Niger delta what their faith have become of now. These guys are have become refugees in their fatherland just because of few criminals among them. Now another fool is trying to cause thesame thing in another part of the country.

To my greatest surprise most nairalanders that have posted a reply to this post are in support. Why are Nigerians to slow to learn ehn? I don't blame you guys, is because nothing affects you people in the town. If anything starts now, is the innocent villagers that will suffer for what they know nothing about.

Who told you the villagers don't know what is going on, please don't speak on things you know nothing about.

Bashali - you nearly got away with it but you just couldn't resist the maps.

Instead of currency and passport, Uwazurike should be screaming for 100% resource control.

All Nigerians have a lot to contribute. Starting with honesty.
A united Nigeria means a loose confederation - a weak centre. one where the concept of majority and minority ethnic groups become totally irrelevant, after all, how can you be a minority in your own territory? and of course 100% control of the resources in your territory.

A weak centre will not work for Nigeria - there will always be the tendency of one group to want to dominate, hence a strong center will always be required.

Folks don't get it, Biafra was never an issue in itself

it was only the peak of another issue

just like the bombings in Niger-Delta today is the peak of the same issue

and just like Hisbah and the Killing of Christains in the North is the symptom of the same issue

we are a Nation of competing identities, DEVOLUTION is the only solution. Biafra may well be dead just like the clamour for resource control will be dead soon, but the dream of United Nigeria where everyone is happy in a suscessful in one country will continue to be a Mirage until we address issues about our existence.

@mikeansy

so will dividing the country make everyone happy and sucessful?
by the way how many parts/constituents will it be divided into? there are so many tribes/ethnic groups; each is highly distrustful of the other. the country will continue dividing until each street becomes a country of its own.
devolution is only an invitation for anarchy.
in the 80s it was war against indiscipline; 90s was war against indiscipline and corruption; it is high time a war against indiscipline, corruption and confusion is launched.
