Which Online Home-based Work After Layoff?

The handwriting had been on the wall for sometime, and almost everyone in the office was panicky. Now that the layoff came after my 17 years of service, it was a kind of relief - heavy burden lifted. My own relief was a kind of mixed feelings: There is freedom from the GOADING of the boss; but there is also fear of what tomorrow holds for my sustenance - as in meeting obligations expected of a responsible father and husband.

Honestly, the fear of unemployment races my heart.

Does anybody (in the house) know what I can do at home with my laptop & internet connection? I have been player both in IT and HR in the last employment.
