Daniel Alves Is The Best Right-Back In The World - Laporta

Quote
Catalan giants Barcelona stamped their authority on the world of fooball last season, adding the Champions League title to the Primera Division and the Copa del Rey trophies.

Barcelona's impressive treble-winning campaign came less than a year after president Joan Laporta was voted against by 60% of the club's associates in a motion of censure.

Laporta, who turns 47 today, has now spoken of his pride in the results achieved, but stressed there are three competitions he wants to win in the near future.

"It is undeniable that we have made history with the triplet and we will always be a reference in the history of the club," he told ICAT FM.

"I hope we will still win more; we have two Supercups and the FIFA Club World Cup [to aim for]."

Laporta has also commented on the players that arrived at the club last season, saying, "[Dani] Alves is the best in the world in his position; he is key because he is everywhere and he makes us play with 12, while [Gerard] Pique is incredible, a true leader in the dressing room."

Quizzed on the club's departures, Laporta noted: "We will see what will happen with [Jose Martin] Caceres, [Aliaksandr] Hleb and [Eidur] Gudjohnsen because there are plenty of teams that want them."

He also spoke of injured Gabriel Milito, who "has recovered a lot and says he is no longer in pain".

Barcelona Hours Away From Closing Keirrison Deal - Report

Quote
Barcelona are reportedly on the verge of signing Brazilian wunderkind Keirrison from Palmeiras, who confirmed four days ago that they had received an official offer from the Catalan juggernauts.

According to Sport, the Blaugrana have been quietly engaged in discussions over the past few days and are now only a matter of hours and few minor details away from completing the transfer. The paper is even confident that, barring any surprises, the 20-year-old will be a Barca player by the end of the day.

It is believed that the transfer fee will be set at around €15 million, an amount that is allegedly stipulated in his contract with Traffic Sports Marketing, the agency that owns 80 per cent of his rights.

If the deal is completed, Barcelona could initiate a fresh assault for David Villa as they look to include 'K9' in a part player-swap with Valencia.

I don't think Blaugrana should sign Villa.
He looks a rather selfish player to me, and he doesn't have the killer instinct.
I know stats say otherwise, but we don't want an egomaniac, or someone that will bust the team spirit on board. The guy no try to even team up with Torres at Confed, at all.

my guy, no mind the two of them. It was a real show of shame.

At this point in time, the team spirit is high. I'm just a bit worried.

Brazil Starlet Keirrison Will Arrive In Barcelona On July 13 – Report

Quote
After reporting that Barcelona would confirm the signing of Keirrison from Palmeiras by the end of yesterday, newspaper Sport is confident that the deal is now definitely done and all that is missing is a contract to make the signing official.
The Catalan-based daily revealed that Keirrison unofficially “declared” himself a Barcelona player last Sunday when he inserted his own picture next to the Barca badge on his website.

The paper then explained that the reason the transfer wasn’t formally announced yesterday was because both Palmeiras and the Blaugrana decided to postpone the confirmation until the end of this week in order to obtain maximum media coverage.

The highly rated 20-year-old striker also divulged on his website that he will not be participating in any further games in Brazil and he will start training alone to avoid picking up any injuries.

Sport has quoted July 13 (a week on Monday) as the date K9 will disembark at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport to conduct the usual medical examinations and sign a contract that will tie him to the Camp Nou for four years.

It is still unclear if Barcelona will keep hold of the youngster, or use him as a pawn to sign David Villa from Valencia.

Keirrison! the Romario of our time would be decleared officially as a barca palyer in just a matter of days.
he is young boi of twenty years,he is tall,he can use both of his legs and he can score good goals with his head.
im happy for barca,we know how to get what we want without necesserily generating any medai controversy.
ETO should take the 2years contract barca had offered him,but he deserves more from barca i guess.
i dont know of u guys J.mascherano aint a player we need at the moment, wat do we need a short defensive midfeilder for?i even prefer flamini of acmillan to him.lets us not sign another liability again, gudjhoson, zambrotta, hleb were waste of time and cash af far as im corncern.we need LB ASAP, NO to calamity abidal this season.we have a calamity in the name of valdes, so we cant afford two badluck in our defence line.barca for life

even if we are to sell eto, we should do it honourably, i dont like d way barca treats players at times, its not a good example to d likes of messi who will be wonderin what we'll do with him when he starts getting disposable, eto is a barca great and deserves more respect

elclassico wil b crazy next season, the thought of monsterous stars fighting to win for their respective teams

I also pray that there wont be any injury next season so that the classico can be hot as HELL. I want both teams trio to be complete. Be it Messi, Eto, Henry, or Messi. Henry, Villa. Still on still, we go still trash them.

We want to let Eto'o go honorably but the guy no wan respect himself. No be by force make club keep u. Last season was the same. He is acting like Saviola. He just wants to keep making his big salary. He loves Barca and i understand that, Barca loves him too. . .but he isnt bigger than the club and We must not bend over backwards again just for him.

Hahahaha Khanye, na true sey FUTURE TV no dey lie. I have just heard it on Euro Sport now. Official report that David Villa is going for Barca  in the Tune of 40 Mills.

They said reason he chose Barca over Madrid was because he taught about not winning the Champions League in seven years.

@Binna, I appreciate your Bravery to come fourth into the BARCA thread to display your shaky confidence.

I always rest my case, we can talk after we meet in the first Classico.

and what is the point if you don't win another major trophy for a decade? Trebles are overrated.
when ManU were getting high from winning the treble in 1999, we made sure we brought them back to reality with a rude awakening in the following UCL season.

In the absence of the cat, the rat has been holding court.
Its about time someone cautions you people as you are getting too big for your shoes.
We agreed to let you win trophies, once in a while, but you have now taken our kindness for weakness, and our gentility for timidity. (like you did during the cryuff era)
This will be corrected in the coming seasons, as we will let everyone know say you be our side kick and nothing more. Grin

Barcelona And Manchester City Look For Eto'o Solution

Quote
Barcelona and Manchester City are lining up further talks to try and find a solution to the transfer of Samuel Eto'o from the Catalan outfit to the Premier League side, according to a report.

The Cameroonian striker is believed to have agreed to a €10 million-a-year contract at Eastlands, but has demanded compensation from Barca for forcing him to move.

While that obstacle is also under consideration, the matter of how much Manchester City will have to pay is still ensuring that the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.

Barcelona have offered to lower their asking price of €30 million if City are willing to raise their initial bid to show willing - and talks can then continue, Sport state.

With only one season left on his current contact, Barcelona are trying to earn as much from Eto'o's transfer as possible, with the money then being used to buy David Villa from Valencia.

City have agreed to further negotiations after contact was made, and a move could be completed by the end of next week when Eto'o returns from the United States.

I hope Gaurdiola wont regret selling this guy Undecided
