Since your mum has already bought this car, I can only wish her the best of luck and pray that the car was properly repaired and cleaned up after the flood. Remember that some flooded cars are actually repairable and can be reasonably cleaned up, they can return to life as rebuilt salvage vehicles. I pray your mum's car is one of those.

Flooded cars that are not properly repaired and cleaned up typically develop electrical problems that are difficult to diagnose and repaired. You can also have issues with odour and other unpleasant problems. I personally would not buy a car that has been in a flood.
