Are There Jobs In Nigeria's Graphic Design Industry
« on: November 02, 2006, 08:12 AM »

i have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, im working on my second degree in Graphic design and also on my Masters Degree in Information System, i will be returning to naija end of next year, pretty much because i am tired of living in this country and i miss naija so much (which i prolly shouldn't, but i do) Smiley anyway i was wondering if there is any job in the Graphic Design field in Nigeria, i design magazines, wedding cards, posters, pretty much anything, i also design websites and create databases. i was planning on starting up a graphic design company in naija but im not sure if its gonna be in high demand. i aslo have the Computer science experience and the MIS experience.

so should i go for it, its something i really really wanna do, are there companies in naija that need graphic designers

hi, u have quite an interesting profile, i'm a graphics designer myself, just qraduated from A.B.U. and i believe there are quite a lot of prospects for the graphics designer here, i did my IT with a company and the turn over for that year was N400 million, so if you ask me, i'd say ,  GO FOR IT!!!!

The diff between the ordinary and extraordinary is the word "EXTRA".

Blah blah blah,  its not so sweet. Sometimes you win sometimes you loose. I've a webdeveloper that has been working with the big players for over 2years now. Brand development etc. I dont wanna be talking about bigbrands I've developed in the country. Though I prolly have made 2mil or a little more this year working as a freelancer.

And a close friend earns 150k monthly working for the same agency. I come once in a while. I get flexible timing being a freelancer. But its not so sweet.

People over-rate me and think I earn more than what I really earn. You can give it a good shot though. But if you got money to throw around a little,  thats good for u. That way you'll be able to hunt for the big big jobs. I only get the big job from my CREATIVE PROFILE. Referral stuffs etc.
