Let's not generalize.  I cannot cook anything but Indomie and beans.  Other men probably can.

My Yoruba boyfriend refuses to cook, he says that African men don't cook! thanks to this forum I know he is talking rubbish! He still won't cook though or do anything to do with food - shopping, washing dishes etc. He says that is for women. He won't even believe me that English men cook. I bought my brother (who loves cooking and does all the cooking in his house) a recipe book for Christmas and he was very shocked and thought it was a very peculiar thing to buy him.

Sometimes I want to hit him on the head with the frying pan!

He only gets away with it as he does other housework ok.

Luckily for me, my exes knew how to cook.  and they're all yoruba.  i think yoruba men can cook unlike d other tribes.  Dat's what i've observed anyway.

My Dad can cook a mean pot of beans because that is his favourite food which he doesn't joke with. Infact, you dare not steal a spoon from it. But now, he leaves the cooking to his wife and me.

My ex-bf can only mix eba and boil yam, finish.

My brothers can only cook Indomie , Sphagetti and fry yam, finish.

Probably if me or my dad's wife are not around, they will be forced to cook more foods.

I believe Nigerian men can cook but for some reason best known to them, they either think it is beneath them or they are just too lazy to cook. Men should actually be careful where they eat and whose food they eat. A word is enough for the wise.

Well my husband can only cook noodles and even when he does that (when Im out) they are moulded into the pot at the end.  I just wonder how he would manage if he had to live alone Shocked

I was so eager to learn how to cook all the naija recipes although I can cook middle eastern dishes and western. I had to resort to the back of maggi packs and the internet now I'm a killer culinare.  It is annoying in the sense that he cannot make a sandwich for his lunch at work.  I just love cooking and I knew many men that did but they were not naija men so dunno really.

One day on his way home I asked him to pick up a bag of hot peppers in the african foodstore and guess what he came back with? one big red bell pepper!!!!! another day he used bean flour for his fufu and wondered what was going on. I had to explain to him to leave the kitchen that in future I will make him his fufu also.  Embarrassed

My man is a great cook. He always makes me delicious foods. Most times he cooks cause he said he loves me and loves pampering me. He surely does pamper  me a lot. But when I visit him and he's cooking he likes for me to stay in the kitchen with him. At times I cook for him too but he does the cooking most times. He likes serving me breakfast in bed or bringing me stuff to school eg special foods he made up. My roommates used to be jealous. Oh God am diverting from the topic  Cheesy.

Depends on the upbringing,

Some men from the time they were very small children have had other ppl cook for them,

Others who never had that luxury at some point would have had to learn to cook for themselves.  Maybe not culinare but at least basic dishes,

Now whether they prefer to cook when in a relationship,  that is another thing,
