Spurs fans are reputed masochists .You have to be into sado-masochism to be a Spurs fan.

Its obvious Jol isn't good enough to push them beyond 5th place. They should be looking at the likes of Juande Ramos and Fabio Capello but these men would probably be reluctant to take up the job. They need a world class manager if they want to be a world class team

Ali is doing well. . . .  he sends his regards and says to tell u not to get 2 xcited, he's inching closer to the goal and is happy at 'boro c'uz his finally getting to play regular 1st team footie!

As 4 M.Jol. . . .  my reservations 4 him are well publicized don't need 2 recount 'em; i was only saying that his strikers let him down on the night and in a sense, still saved his scalp. . . . .  they should'a given him the boot earlier, but now they've stalled and i guess they're stuck with him till the season ends!

I wonder what makes a world class manager.

Before Rijkaad got the job at Barca, hes previous stint as
club manager was at Sparta Rotterdam where he led them to
relegation!!

Even the exalted Special one was a run of the mill coach before he
sent sparks flying at Porto.

I guess what I am saying is there are no hard and fast rules to these
things. Almost luck of the draw I believe.

World class in the sense of someone who has an outstanding CV already.Spurs took a gamble with Jol,now they need someone who has proven his mettle at the highest level

I 4see M.Jol seeing out this season with Spurs and if they don't offload him then, he'D probably would spend a long time with 'em. . . . .
Spurs don't have the kind of dough that would attract the top-notch coaches of this world; if they do go 4 another, it'D be just another as li'l known as M.Jol when he first came on the scene!

@ ALL SPURS FAN,

I don't care what anyone says about y'all guys.
U gave a performance equal to PERFECTION tonight.
1-4 down at White Hart Lane and u rallied back to score 3 goals and make it 4-4.
Thats OUTSTANDING.
Its the GAME OF THE SEASON.

Fantastic match!!!!What was Kaboul doing celebrating for so long, they should have gone for the 5th!!O'Neill messed up by introducing Harewood who offered no outlet. What they needed was to stiffen the midfield.

Anyway,O'Neill's error contributed to an outstanding game.Defoe should have been brought on at half time.He was very lively.

how can a team concede 4 goals if their performance was equal to perfection?
Typical spurs,score 50,concede 50.

Tottenham 4- Aston Villa 4. what a match and a massive comeback for the spurs. on the celebration of their 125th birthday. this is another DAMAN MIRACLE. i wonder what will become of MARTIN JOL soon. Kabol was the saviour with a cracking shot into the roof of the net. Why did O' NIEL introduce HAREWOOD? he played noting in that match and even gave away a foolish penalty.

ain't a spur's fan but i was so happy that they equalized

That game was mindblowing i knew they would equalise when the scores was 4-2 but those Spurs guys are whack how can you go 4-1 down at home they have lost 2 games at home already. Why the f'uck did O'Neill bring in Harewood to really shot himself in the foot doesnt he have defenders or midfielders on the bench? He really pushed hs luck

It was a Special night and you could almost sense that something out of the ordinary was g'onna happen. . . . . . Guess M.Jol would'a learnt something from this - i still question why on earth he'D leave J.Defoe out of the squad when he could afford to push Keane further in-field and pair Berba with Defoe!

Wow! I created this thread but I havent been here for a while, But I like the tone!

Anyway, we are playing rather pathetically after a good pre-season, The defence is still porous, we have no leader,,, but we showed better Character on our anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But we meet Liverpool Shocked, we arent having the best of all times, but our season might just change after the Villa match.

Anyway, back to work.

Bolton to meet Bayern in Uefa Cup
Bolton were drawn in the same Uefa Cup group as German giants Bayern Munich, but Everton and Tottenham will fancy their chances of making progress.
Spurs face a reunion with Anderlecht, the team they beat in the 1984 final, while Everton's main threat is likely to come from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

Aberdeen must overcome Greek outfit Panathinaikos and Atletico Madrid.

But it is Bolton, with Portuguese side Braga and Red Star Belgrade joining Bayern, who face the stiffest test.

Interview: Bolton chief executive Allan Duckworth

Give your reaction to the draw

Each team will play two matches at home and two away with the group stage starting on 25 October and the top three going through.

They will be joined by eight third-placed teams from the Champions League groups for the knockout round.

Bolton, Everton and Tottenham will play alternate games home and away and all start their campaigns hosting SC Braga, Larissa and Getafe respectively.

Bolton's second game on 8 November sees them face the tough trip to Bayern Munich and they have to travel to play Red Star Belgrade in a potentially crucial final group game on 6 December.

Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka says his side need to try to win their home games and attempt to earn a point on their travels.

He has cited his French international team-mate Franck Ribery as one of Bayern's main threats.

Anelka told the club's website: "I would love to go there (Munich) and upset the world of football by winning. It would put Bolton on the map in terms of being a European force.

"The match against Red Star will be evry intimadating. they always seem to raise their game in European competition and their fanatical fans are always very passionate at home."

Everton's final game is a trip to AZ Alkmaar on 20 December, while Spurs end with a visit to Anderlecht on 6 December.

"I am pretty satisfied," said Spurs boss Martin Jol at his side's draw.

"You can only assess it on paper on at the moment and my feeling is that it could have been a lot tougher for us.

"Anderlecht away will be a hard one, but it is in the final game for us and, hopefully, we will have done the business by then.

"They have got fanatical supporters, just like we've got, so that should be a special night with the history between the two clubs in this competition."

thats Tottenham or u, when the going was tough for the team, rather than back th ecoach n show some believe in the team, they turn on the coach and chase the poor man out of the team. results were bad but did he really deserve to be trated like that?

I'm feeling ya' chuckdee4,

a lot of those results, you just couldn't blame Jol for. . . .  but i like the way Jol acted, with dignity all through; you could actually feel his defiance all through those trying times!
i feel some of the more senior players like Berba should shoulder a lot of the blame for the clubs downfall. . .  some of 'em never really showed true commitment - the only ones i could really single out were R.Keane and J.Defoe, those guys play with fire in their veins and exhibit real desire to win!
lets see how they hold up from here. . . . .  but to me, that sack was utterly baseless now; they had the chance to dump him earlier in the season and didn't take it. . . . .  sacking him now is creating a very chaotic situation for the club!
