thank nesky - if you don't mind me asking how much do they charge you and how long did the entire process take?

Try calling the number i gave you . I paid installmentally but it wasnt that expensive. You will be happy u did. But when next you are applying for a visa read this thread properly so u don't make mistakes that will lead to appeals, You learn from other peoples mistakes on this thread.

Lets know how it went. Good luck

Your 'harvard consult', don't they have an office address. If they are as good as you claim, then they should have assisted you till when you finally picked up your visa. You should not have been here asking for 'home office's or ait's email addresses' or the recent documents to take along with you.

1.point of correction. Harvard Consult  has an office address but i did not have it at hand when i went online that was why i provided a phone no.
2. I joined nairaland when i won my appeal. All i wanted was additional information which i found useful, Nobody knows it all, not even you.  We learn everyday and on this thread people have diffrernt opinons on topics and it is trashed out(left winger ,right wingers.etc).
 Huh
3. its a free world. a question was asked on the thread and i gave the info , it is left to him to call and find out charges, if he can afford it , fine, if not he tries his luck elsewhere but it did not cost too much and i repeat what they did was THOROUGH.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

If what they did was thorough, you should not have come on nairaland to seek for information, rather the thorough Harvard consult should have been your point of call immediately, at least you paid good money for their services.

I remember how often you came on the thread asking for one simple information or the other, which I suppose Harvard consult should have given you freely!

There are a lot of people who do not have to pay a dime to know how to draft a simple letter of appeal against an immigration decision. I am a living example to such! And more than often we do not seek to enhance/promote all these travel consultant agents that only siphon money from gullible and lazy Nigerians that cannot sit down to think and draft a simple letter of appeal.

I can as well name 'a credible visa agent' resident in Festac Lagos who will charge 100K to draft an appeal. What about that? Grin

@akolawole
I am fully aware that all appeals cannot be won but the fact remains that appeal agents ruin so many visa appeals. Do you want the password to my email to read the lamentations from those affected? Grin

@pataki
You dey mind am? If Harvard was so good and thorough and they collected good money then why was she here seeking for answers to simple, basic enquiries.

Any 'correct' appeal agent should have told his client that presenting the wrong documents to BHC when called upon can still result to an outright refusal.

The battle is not over until his client successfully passes through the port of entry at UK. Just imagine if she had presented an admission letter dated 2007 or a bank statement with little less than 500k to BHC.

hi all,

this is my problem, please can someone help me out?

You have provided no information or documentary evidence to show your personal circumstances in Nigeria, or evidence of any income or assets. Taking into account your circumstances as described by you. I am not satisfied on the balance of possibilities that you have demonstrated that you meet the requirements of Paragraph 41 of HC395

You have failed to submit any satisfactory evidence of sponsorship in the form of bank staements, payslips or other documentary evidence from a sponsor in the UK. In the absence of such evidence I am not staified that you will be adequately maintained and accomodated by relatives or friends without recourse of public funds as required by Paragraph 41(vi) of HC395

Further to the above, nor can I be satisfied on the balance for probabilities that you are related to as claimed to the sponsor. This raises doubts as to your true intentions and as such I am not satisfied that you have shown you meet the requirements of Paragraph 41(i) and (ii) of HC395

Brownbaby
No they didnt tell me to fill any form,they only aksed for my documents and i gave them my  bank statement and a letter from my school addressed to them showing i was given a place in their school and my fees paid.

I was then given a slip saying my visa has been approved and a date which i should come and pick up.  I'll keep you posted when i get there next week.

Where you just refused on the grounds of the date of your admission letter?

Very well stated. Considering what has been going on here, I could not have stated it better. 60 Pages of Immigration information and appeal counsel should be enough to help anyone out.

Although I would have raised the stakes to 50-100 posts. Undecided Embarrassed

Hi Everyone,
I am applying for a british student visa soon.And i am considering using co-sponsor.I have an uncle who is u.s citizen who is willing to sponsor me and send me the necessary docs to apply.On the other hand i have my Dad. Will co-sponsor count against me?
I have previously been denied a  uk student visa two years ago on sponsor basis though.
I appealed against the deciscion and also lost d appeal.

Someone also says i can even include my own bank statements along in the applicatrion.Its savings account though.
Wont there be a cluster of accts? Do i have to include sponsor's payslips?
Thanks

@akolawole and pataki
25posts is too small. I would rather prefer 50 posts as the benchmark. There could be exceptions though (as the Spirit directs) Grin . Seriously, 50 posts.

@sureng
Where are you? Why the unusual silence? Have you been issued your visa? Do keep us updated. You are greatly missed Grin Grin

@nkc
Tell your friend to keep posting in nairaland - i recommend sports and romance sections (best place to increase post count Grin Grin ). When he clocks 50 posts, i will be more than willing to help.

@debuoy
I'm only replying you now just because you made initial enquires (and i responded) before the 50 posts rule came into effect. Its rather suprising you lost the appeal. Looking at what you stated in the other thread, a few letters clearly clarifying the issues raised should have cleared/settled all doubts in the judge's mind.
Your appeal-was it oral or paper hearing? Who drafted the appeal for you? If it was oral, who represented you at the court?
Regarding your question, if your dad has sufficient money in his account, just stick to his bank statement. Using your uncle's statement may arouse the ECO's suspicion/queries on really if you two are related, etc. There is nothing wrong if you submit your personal bank statement along with your dad's as long as you can explain/prove the orgin of the funds in your own account.

Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process
« #1918 on: May 02, 2008, 11:28 AM »

@ nkc,

Here is the breakdown not comprehensive though.

The application is totally wack. Dont even bother with any form of appeal. The applicant is a 4th degree relative to the sponsor in the UK under the immigration view.

The sponsor in the UK is a student with a limited leave to remain, yet works full time. That is illegal. Thats why she is relunctant to give her payslips, bank statement and other utility bills.

My suggestion:
Re-apply with a better sponsor.
