hello, i recently applied for a british visa to go on holiday & was refused. my boyfriend was planning to buy my ticket and this he stated in his letter to them.my refusal was based on the fact that he put lump sum in his account in a space of two days and there was no explanation for it so they said his account was artificially inflated. he works with bank phb as a branch head. i told him i would rather use his salary account as i presumed this would help so he gave me the bank statements for his salary account but withdrew N400,000 from his union bank account & also N600,000 from his bank phb savings account which explains the N1,000,000 that the embassy talked abt, so my question! is it justified that i was refused based on that since he owns both accounts that they money was transfered from and statements from these 2 accounts can prove it & also can i appeal though i heard it takes a longer process but i dont mind since i would go to dubai instead & dont mind waiting & cld travel next yr, a friend also adviced that i send the embassy a mail to state my complaints abt the refusal and they would respond & ask me to make a copy of the mail i sent and ask me to reapply, wat are my best options??? many thanks!

hi miz4oxley,

coolu temper, nor go give urself high blood pressure,  just relax, they will call you,  the most important thing is that you won the case,  they havent forgotten you,  or has it been a month already? i got my visa like a month after,  so just chill. i'm sure they know you have to resume for school but if you insist that you want to contact them, check the ukvisas.gov.uk or ukvac-ng.com,  u shld find some contacts there,

instead, spend your time preparing so u dont forget anything. and have everything sorted out cuz u definitely will come to london.

From expirience, I would think the ECO  would have given you more reson for refusing your VISA< ie, you are going on holiday so the Onus would be on you   and not your BF,besides  you have to prove to him you are comming bank so you are meant to have your own job,bank account etc where you given ful right of appeal or the limited one?

yeah but i did include all that, my letter of appointment, bank statements(salary account), payslips, letter from my boss saying i was going on leave. they ddnt say anything abt that the only reason they gave me was that N1000000 was paid in 2days and there was no proof to state where the money came from and this has led me to believe that your boyfriends finances was artificially inflated!

@ yjay
FUll right of appeal measn you can appeal aginst the decission in all the grounds you feel they where wrong, limited appeal is when you can only appeal on two grounds given to you,I think one is Article 8 9Human right ground) the other is Racial descrimination, well try  and apply for a reconsideration/Review by ECM. and see the outcomes, follow the thread you will see how to go about this.

@peter2010
man the only guarantee for him is to get another emploer oh  now if hi can go back to the UK  and get that everything will be sweet, but if he is already stuck in Nigeria man thats though as regards applying for another category,well it would be 50/50 cos the will now have his prints,he also have to declare he has been refused before  and the reason on his new application.

ok Im online here, but will give you my Email, blazefactory2000@hotmail.com, you can mail me there, well
@ folomoi, man that's a long time to be waiting, but there is a lil Doc somewhere that describes the ECO  and ECM procedure  and even POST n how to go about informing you and all that,do you have a sponsor to represent you in the UK? if yes ask them of any info if No, they might have written to you, or do you have a Copy of the decisione? if yes you need to fax the ECO at BHC in Lagos,have you tried going to your Local post office to see if you got any Post trust, this is so annoying,I went there and got two post from the AIT, that was last week, I should have had then 4 weeks ago,anything ask away Ok, I have been in Uk for more than 7 yrs  and stil don't know it all, we all are learning.

Hello Nairalanders!! I've been following this thread for some years now and never really needed help until now. I hope experienced people can give some help on this: I applied for my student visa (PGd) in March 09' and was refused on some flimsy and funny grounds (as they always do). I was given a right of appeal though and I submited it to BHC, Lagos on April 21, 09. I nor my lawyer has since yet to recieve any letter on the status of my appeal which I think should have been sent by now. I'm beginning to get worried!! Can anybody give me any advice on what next to do?
