Hello there mates,

Thanks for the previous advices, I applied for a student Visa 12th of January, 2009. before the Point based system started and was refused on 2 SIMPLE grounds (They wanted more evidence of my uncle's property serving as host in UK, and they wanted to see Original WAEC Cert). I then appealed and i have been told by AIT that my appeal has been ACCEPTED. Though BHC Abuja hasn't called me yet but i want to know,

(1) What things is required of me when called to bring along
(2) Would my visa be granted based on the old system rule (does point calculation apply to my visa issuance) since i even appealed before PBsystem started??
(3) How long does it take to get the Visa.

Thank you Pals,

the BHC are always slow to let you know wa gwan in Nigeria, but your Uncle should go to the hearing  and I think you should concentrateon the hearing for now rather than howlong it tkes to get VISA etc, just fix all the Docs needed for the hearing OK,all teh best!

I dont think anyone would be able to tell you that exactly regarding cost unless they have a comprehenssive list of school fees/accomodation  and living expencies cost then yes, we both know that aint possible
But here are a few tips  that will help you
 I think School outside London would be better as living  conditions would be way far cheaper
Stick to schols in the Northern part of the Uk, its way cheaper than them ones in the south cost trust me, anything near the Costal areas in the Uk are  not cheap at all,if I have more I would chip in.

@erico2k2

You don't get my question. My Appeal has already been accepted and im only waiting to get a cal fro BHC to come for my Visa. SO,

(1) What things is required of me when called to bring along
(2) Would the ECO grant me my visa based on the old system rule (does point calculation apply to my visa issuance) since i even appealed before PBsystem started??
(3) How long does it take to get the Visa.

I'm confused because the judge that accepted my appeal made all his decisions based on the previous visa rule of law, that's why i asked the question(2) just to be sure the ECO does not have a say anymore on granting me visa.

^^^ OK I get you now, my bad, well on the notice of decission, did the judge issue a directive for the Visa to be issued of yes  then its gonna be issued at the condition of initial application I think.cos during your appeal procedings  you aint allowed to bring any new Docs. after.

@ miz4oxley, hi.

so sorry about the disappointment,  go to  www.ukvisas.gov.uk for everything u need to know as per the points based sytems and their requirements,  read carefully and make sure u fully understand before u make any move,

as u do that, u can apply for a review of the  refusal of visa after an appeal won,  i know that is possible,

i wish u all the best and God's favour,  meanwhile, check the uk students' visas forum, and the general one on this site. you will get a lot of information and support from there,  more importantly, check the uk website,  it is all there for you to see.

@orexjoe, hi,

they will give you a call from the embassy telling you what to bring,  don't assume what they usually ask for or what they might have told other people to submit,  each case is different and treated as such, just listen and take only what they ask of you.

they will give you the visa as would have been given before the points based system since you appealed before that arose,  you are lucky cuz that points based thingy na government work to read and understand sef.

u need God's grace to,  Grin Grin Grin

U hit the nail at the head there, he should stay way from london schools only if he is loaded, i mean the whole of south, North is still cheaper for fees and cost of living.

Don't risk it, pay the fees and get the recipt and the UNCONDITIONAL admmission letter, u can pay the remaining fees on arrival.
The admission letter is one of the important document u need for visa application.

Hi Nairalanders! I've waited for my appeal descision for months now and I just got a shock now when I was told (through AIT customer service) my appeal was dismissed. I was told I can appeal that descision too (recosideration). I have contacted my lawyer and he said we will appeal it immediately we get the mail from them on the reason for the dismissal. I feel awful, downcasted and confused after waiting all these months to be dissapoited. Please I need someones advise on what next to do. Thanks.  Cry  Cry Huh

am curious. how much has the lawyer milked from you so far?

he wants to appeal the decision reached by AIT and charge you more, right?

why keep on wasting further time? why not reapply and correct whatever mistakes that were in your initial application?

what visa cartegory did you apply for?
