what about hibernation and allowing your battery to completely die down? The real truth is I dont use my laptop with the battery - I have a UPS which I connect and I remove the battery. It is only for use if there is no electricity and I really have to use my laptop - that has helped my laptop life, |

Mine did give me 2hrs- 30 mins when i got it newly but now its 21months old it does not last longer than 30 mins when fully charged someone help revive my wonderful gateway lappy.  :  |

It depends on what you are doing. Here is the statistics for my HP Compaq laptop.
Browsing------2hrs 45 mins
Movies--------3hrs
Typing/Other html functions--------5hrs 30mins
I have been using it consistently for the past one year, no problem.

If I set the power plan to HP Recommended, will last for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours and computer boots-up fast If I set the power plan to Power saver, will last for 4 to 5 hours (now and again almost 6 hrs, seriously), but computer boots up real slow Oh a techkie told me don't make it a habit leaving the laptop charging overnight at 100% full. something to do with the battery life   |

I use a laptop battery doubler & it's serving me so well. Usually my laptop last 45mins but now its close to 4hrs. Just indicate if u are interest to test it out. It does nt ve any effect on your battery. It's a software application developed by experts to give u maximum usage.

Different stories, different lines.
Your laptop's battery performance highly depends on what u ar usin it for. Be it movies, music, browsin or even wordprocessin.
The battery has a life span. After several charges n discharges, its performance decreases.
The laptop's charger also matters a lot. Due to power surges, the charger may have a burnout (sometimes unnoticable), n d chargin current is affected.
Guys wif battery times lower than 45mins should check their charger, a bad charger might even destroy the battery, crash d hard drive or even the processor n sometimes electrocute u. So its beta runnin a check on d charger when u notice a shorter battery run time.

Funny! Seems my case is the worst on NL. I have this 6 months old acer ASPIRE 5315-2639. Battery life used to be 2hrs or so when new. For abouth 5 weeks now,it does not even attempt to last a second. As power goes,the system dies. In fact,it has to be used with power all the time. This is my first acer. Thank God for this thread. Before reading it, I had concluded acer make fake products and I have been very reluctant to look for another acer battery,

u guyz re kiddin mi, wen it comes 2 laptop batteries all u need 2 do is accept dem as dey cum,if only our country had d brains 2 produce a laptop dey wont be deceivin us like diz (buy a new laptop n it lasts 4 30mins datz crap), so i suggest u stop complainin n fink of better wayz 2 maximize your ba3 |

basically all Laptop batterries should last at least a minimum of 2hrs but as somebody rightly said charging and discharging a battery makes it loses cells thereby causing it to diminish battery life the best way to use your battery is to remove the battery always when you are using current because many people leaves that battery in their laptops when they are using electricity but current surges or low currents affects the battery adversly thereby making the battery have lower cells for charging and makes it not to last long. the best way is
1. remove battery from Laptop if you are using electricity
2. charge battery only when the laptop is not in use
3. Use your sparmodus in your laptop settings when you are using battery
4. battery usage depends on what you are using it for, e.g (movies, surfing or programming)
