my dear edo sisters I am here to say I am very sad about this situation we all find ourselves. I have recieved an email from an edo sister which has really touched and upset me.
Because of some stupid prejudices people have agianst edo girls I find myself being asked to deny my taste for attractive looks and all. I am sorry but this is something I can't do because I have always liked to dress sexy
Anyone who looks at my profile and see my picture and immediately deduces "edo girl + dresses sexy + lives in Italy = prostitute" is the biggest fool and ignorant that has ever exsited in this world.
Let me tell you something. I live here in Italy and I can assure you that prostitution is not an edo thing. Igbos, yorubas do it as well. We Nigerians are well known for liking to make money in easy ways and when you come to italy, when you have no papers and no money, what do you think you can do to survive? It's either drugs, prostitution or black work. But the first and second seem to be the faster way to make money.
To conclude I'll say this. I won't allow any stupid prejudice to condition my way of living. I know I am not a prostitute or anything like that so you haters can go and hang yourselves. IDIOTS!

Sorry to jump in here, but I've met so many Edo people who speak fluent Yoruba, but there are very few Yoruba people who speak any of the Edo dialects. Why?? The two languages are mutually unintelligble to one another, yet it seems the Edo folks are far quicker to pick up the South-West lingo, and not the reverse.
Just an observation, but I stand to be corrected.

Alright, I'll give you a little clue. Each of my parents are products of inter-ethnic marriages. So I have blood-ties and links to all parts of Nigeria!

@Imani You can't even recognise the writing of your fellow woman? Is laudate female? Or is because you and donzman have had quite a few issues with laudate, and feel since laudate doesnt give up on debates , that you conclude laudate is female? Give me a good reason why laudate can't be male?

I thought only me and Sisimose was from Edo state here. Lol Sisimose I see we are not alone. @Imani I tend not to see myself as a native of where my parents come from, but rather as a native of where i was born and grew up.
I disagree with you, because if you were born in Kazakhstan, you will not necessarily see yourself as a Kazak. My son was born in London, but he's a Nigerian not an Englishman.
