Some Of My Fav. Childhood Snacks I'm Craving For:

~Ginger Cake: Round Flat/Thick Spicy Tan Ginger Biscuit/Rusks,{We tend to call everything "Cake" }Some made as hard as Rocks! I prefered The Ones That Break easily:I Loved giving it a Kung-Fu Hit on my palms to break it up Cheesy

~Groundnut Cake: Dunno The Ingredient for this But the tips were shaped Like arrows On Paper Thin Bars/Snaps: They were usually sold Side by Side W/ Sesame Seed Snaps,we call it "Beni Cakes"

~Binch Akara: Minced Black Eye Beans Fritters

~Beet Root chips: Sliced Paper Thin

~Plantain Cake: Over-Riped Plantain Mixed W/ Flour & Spicies

~OMG SeanT! You had Kanya too? Grin I'm ever so excited here!

~Back Home,They're either  made w/ Rice Or Garri: I like the one made w/ Garri better than the one w/ Rice! Matter of Fact i have some in my Snack Cupboard my Nana sent me. . .

~Finding Pics on the Net of Mentioned Snacks is proving a lil bit tasking. . Next Time I go Home I'll be sure to take pics of Snacks & make it available on the Internet!

~I Loved Roasted Cassava w/ a dollop of Butter. . .My My. . What Memories!

~I wasnt Crazy about Roasted Corn but i like the Boiled Corn . .

~Parched/Roasted Peanuts,i absolutely loved eating w/ the Peel : I like Salted Boiled Peanuts too. . .

@@@MC

Yes, That's the picture.I love Kanyah so much. The only thing I hate about it is that it makes me freaking thirsty. Grin Kanyah is a classic Liberian snack. There is no Kanyah here or maybe I am just not looking right.I forgot that U add Garri or Rice.

PS: I think I read somewhere that U are from Sierra Leone. That explains to me why U know so much about Kanyah.

~Yeah . . . I be Sa Lone Titi Grin

~You can say that again @ Thirsty!! It's filling Too. . I havent been able to eat yet since i had the slices on the Plate on pic. .

~Am not aware if it's packaged & sold either not that i wud buy it even if it was! I Like how my Nana makes hers. . . .using Fine Garri,Peanut Butter. . eating Kanya w/ garri thats not parched properly sucks. . . .

~They were shaped either using the Scoop spoons off  Baby Milk Tins or Cut out into rectangle shapes!

~Your Sugar Cookies i think are our "King Drivers" AKA "Kill Driver" as its popularly known. . . Not one of my fav.

~I loved the pastry off Meat/Fish Pies but the Onions were off putting for me! I'd always be the one opening my Meat pie to get rid of all the Onions!: The only time I enjoy eating Meat Pie as an Adult is when i make a request for it to be made w/o Onions & for Cubes of Boiled Potatoes to be added:

~The Plantain Chips I remember were Long strips of fried plantain chips, almost the length of the plantain. . .not like the round small ones sold in african stores! There'll be like 3/4 in a packet!
