Weslayan,unfortunately the Igbo man is the butt of Naija jokes.
I think Nigerians do that to make them feel better,the way oyibo talks of African Americans negatively to make themselves feel good.
If you don't understand why the words Igbo and hate would infuriate us if used in the same sentence,then it's no point explaining.
Next time you see a jew, make a joke about how Hitler failed to finish his job and watch his reaction.
It's true we are joking around and having fun but it's in the midst of it all,some spew out their deep hatred.
I am one proud Igbo girl with no apologies.
I love my fellow men and fellow Nigerians dearly.
Are there bad Igbos,of course,which people don't have their bad eggs.
But when you have Christiana refer to Igbos as goats and edobabe says we are 419ers forgetting that most of the criminals in Nigeria and prostitutes home and abroad are edo.we would not fail to point out certain things too.
Didn't they say those in glass houses should not throw stones?

if you have anything about edo people say it.why should igbo hate any tribe.there is no place in nigeria, you would not see igbo,in igboland is there any edo or ishan people living there.
this is the exact mindset of any Igbo haters. You're mad because the Igbos are in edo also. Didn't your fathers fight for us to remain in Nigeria and yet you complain that we live outside of Igboland. someone has to sell in the marketplaces in Bini. We can't all be babalawos and sacrificing chicken can we? |

Nice post Babyosisi. well said/ written. You shouldn't get all that provoked though. try to ignore some people sometimes. Getting really mad will only give nasty people reason to pick on you. if you ignore they'll stop (well, maybe not. i don't know  ) or maybe you should try being part of Nigeria instead of isolating yourselves or saying bad about other nigerian tribes (northerners e.t.c). I don't know how to word it but just something i noticed. every tribe gets picked on. it just seems Igbos gets picked on and feel it the most.
