Not sure how to respond to this PhD 'bashing' issue. I am certain that no where in this thread have I mentioned a PhD (someone else did). This is principally because my PhD is quite ancient (1989/90) and I do know that millions of people possess one.

However, when someone takes on any tribe, whether for an unintended reason or not (title: Why Do I Hate Igbo people), people who care about humanity should respond.

I consider any and all such statements (e.g. some previous posts insulting the Yoruba, Hausa and other minority tribes) as unacceptable and have indicated as much - however I usually leave the defense to those from that tribe, and wish they would react just as passionately as I do towards any unguarded statements about my tribe.

I do not really care whether an Ibo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo have annoyed a person - the choice of the word 'hate' is clearly too strong to be used to describe the emotions one feels when annoyed (especially if used in the general sense of the title in this thread).

An apology from the author should suffice - but then again, maybe this is too much to ask.
