Why would I say it happened to me just to get sympathy? I don't know any of you and we are all like a million miles apart so there will be no need for me to talk bull.
Atupa, it is possible to be pregnant and STILL have the monthly flow - learn something new and stop being difficult!

Mrwhitesharks - If you have time you can go and research on the net - I am not the one disputing anything. I don't want to offend anyone but this is the reason I say most black Men are backward, not everything is black and white, it's just you can't understand it so get over yourself. I am a woman and it happened. simple! I can't even go on about this - I have work to do.

Now this is interesting….. You tell a woman the truth her gets all agitated……… [..but this is the reason I say most black Men are backward, not everything is black and white, it's just you can't understand it so get over yourself…] it is not about being black or white madam, tis about what is real and known and understood and can be researched. If you told me that you have divine intervention, I 4 nor talk but say u did not know is another pill all2getda. A woman must be heard……… .. [it happened. simple! I can't even go on about this…] at this time and age, u cannot just say stuff and wish it away on the rest of the folks. If u say things, be ready to back them up with facts and not just mere words. Always fellin important….. { … I have work to do..} and we are all job less …

Gosh you guys have a way of going off-topic. in a silly way if u ask me
i haven't read through all the relevant posts on this topic, so pardon me if someone has already said this...
it's perfectly possible for a woman to be pregnant without knowing it whether or not she's had a baby before. a few months ago there as a British awards ceremony for bravery, kindness, and stuff of that sort. and there as a girl either 9 or 10 can't rememberher age now. she got an award and the 999 tape was played for everyone to hear. well the girl made the 999 call because her mom was in serious pain and neither one of them knew what was going on. girlie kept asking for the operator to give her tips on what to do, got towels, told her mom to lay down properly and even screamed "there's a baby coming out of her"...now isn't that a brave child (mind you she was 9 at the time of this incident)
....so yes its possible for her not to have known.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. Anyways, in the last few weeks/months, I've heard more versions of this story, making me believe the girl in question knew what was going on:
-->I did not know until the 7th month(version 2); -->I did not know until the last day(version 3); -->I did not know until the baby popped out while I was out shopping( extension of version 3);
Does not make sense to me, though. She could be lying or finding it hard to put her story in a coherent fashion, but one thing I've gotten from all this is: There is no way a woman will be pregnant (for 9 mths) and not feel it. Knowing it for sure is a different matter, but they will sure feel the presence of another human being growing inside of them. Methinks, some women deliberately ignore whatever little signals their body sends and end up framing some cock-and-bull story.

In your cousin's case, she might have known or she may not have known, but the fact of the matter is that THESE THINGS HAPPEN.
TO ALL YOU DOUBTING THOMASES OUT THERE, It is not every pregnant woman that; stops seeing her period, some get their period throughout the whole pregnancy; Not everyone experiences nausea; Not everyone gains weight; Some people lose weight during pregnancy; Not everyone's belly comes out; Not all pregnancy tests are accurate; etc
We live in the United Kingdom. My little sister had been ill, admitted into hospital three times, had all sorts of test done to her, she used conventional and alternative medicine, got lots of injections, there were even talks of giving her blood transfusion, AND yet she still saw her period regularly. She had been to three different hospitals and all pregnancy tests were negative. The doctors were baffled about her illness. She wears size 6 in the UK, which is a size 2 in the US, and was losing weight.
I got a call from my mum in November that they had just found out that my junior sister was pregnant. My mum was really scared and upset because she had been subject to loads of tests and injections for the whole months that the pregnancy had gone undetected, and pregnant women are only allowed limited drugs in pregnancy.
My mum told me that even though my dad was very upset, he had agreed that she could keep the pregnancy. The next thing i said to my mum was that so i am going to be an aunt in summer, and her reply was that NO THE BABY IS DUE IN JANUARY.
I must have swallowed the spoon that i was eatiing with, cause my cutlery is one down, and i have searched everywhere for it to no avail.
After I regained my composure, I said to my mum that but i thought you just said dad had reluctantly agreed that she could keep the baby.MEN can be so clueless. So if he had not agreed, would she have been subject to aborting a seven/eight months old pregnancy?
My sister has since given birth to a heathy bouncing baby boy, who miraculously did not have any birth defects whatsoever. The only thing is that he is allergic to milk.
On another note, My friend is a UK size 14/American size 10, her belly is so flat that people always comment that she is very lucky to have such flat belly on her big frame.
She is currently five and half months pregnant now and people are always telling her to get proof that she is actually pregnant. Her cousin, who is also five months pregnant escorted her to the council to get accommodation and the receptionist told her that she would have to bring proof that she was pregnant, whilst the cousin got referred to the Homeless Persons Unit straightaway.
The fact that something seems weird does not mean that it is not true.

when you don't know something it is not proof that it cannot or does not happen and until you know then you just don't know. pregnancy for every woman very different, even specialists will tell you that much. now i know so it will do you all 'unbelievers' a lot of ggod to stop being so cynical and learn, because you never know when it might be up your alley.
as for pie1ect's cousin i can definitely not say whether or not she's lying but as to if women can be pregnant and not know, oh, i can verify that very easily because it has happened to me. and after finding out i wanted to find out more information about why it happened the way it did, checked out a few sites and found out that a lot of women have acutally experienced the same thing. i had wnat is called poly cystic ovarian syndrome, which made it impossible to have regular periods, women with pcos sometimes go for as many as 6 months or more without having their periods and coupled with that, they get bloated a lot, and experience weight gain around the waist. in addition to the foregoing, not all women experience morning sickness, i didn't, apart from fatigue once in a while, (which can always be attributed to something other than pregnancy of course) i didn't experience any other pregnancy symptom.
all these are not farfetched sotries, they are actually scientific information that anyone can get from books and the internet.
so like i said, in as much as i am not giving credence to the cousin's story, i am also saying when you don't know, don't knock it as untrue, find out!

Well, it is not possible for an african woman not to know that she is pregnant. Oyinbo women may be pregnant and not know until the baby pops out but not a nigerian. Come on!!! It is true that in some women amenorrhea does not occur but then there are other things that tell that a woman is pregnant. what of paleness of the skin? what about sunken eyes? what about retention of fluid in the body making the woman appear fatter than usual, what about the baby kicking in the womb? It is plausible to say some women don't take note of changes in their bodies but to say nothing happens is , especially for an unmarried girl, she knew. I'm sure the mother saw the changes in her and that was why the cock and chicken story of complication after appendectomy came about. Na wa o!!!!!!!!
