Dear ASUU, Suit yourself and let your conscience judge you - if really you are fighting for the interest of the Nigerian youth or have chosen fight to get your selfish desire. It's up to you. Dear FG, Let your will be done. But do not forget the living hen will still lay egg. We shall also get there. But, then you shall bite your fingers because nemesis would have caught up with you. Dear Nigerian Youth, Learn your lessons. Never let your backgroung throw you to the ground. We shall get there because it's a matter of time. What go around, surely comes around. Be patient. But, meanwhile, invest in yourself. Pls, PHEMMOR i'm working on a magazine and the first edition will come out next month. Can you permit me to publish this posts? i lost a full academic session to ASUU and internal strikes, coupled with the low standard of teaching that was our lot in school those days. Now am in europe trying to wipe up an msc degree, but just as students from other countries are finding it easy to catch up due to the high standard of education in their countries, me and my fellow comrade from nigeria are running meters behind the class trying to catch up.
Why? because Nigerian government has completely destroyed the educational system in nigeria, such that a 1st class here is proportionate to a 2nd class lower degree in europe or america.
I advise and implore every nigerian youth residing in nigeria to stand up and take up arms against the government, or infact declare a bloody revolution against our oppressors.
Anybody or group who is ready to take up this challenge would be sure to count on my advise and support, ranging from advise on guereilla warfare tactics and advise on the best strategy to utilise, me myself being an ex-militant.And also not forgetting advise on how to source for high tech war instruments.

Mobuch, truer words have not been spoken. The academic standard in nigeria is near zero. Certificates are worthless. Students are likely to stay home till next year if they are not careful!

With 40% salary increase, what is ASUU demanding again?
Get a copy of the 2001 and 2007 draft agreements which the government is refusing to sign. Read it through and then get an understanding of what the issues are.

To ASUU: My advice to you is to take up arms like the militants in the Niger Delta or use catapult/sticks like the Boko Harams in the North. That way, the FG will set up a committee for you. And that means another avenue for embezzlement of funds.
To FG: Shame on you. The money you steal in this country, sickness will wipe it away. Idiots. You think God is sleeping.

Nigerian government is nothing to write home about. My advice to Nigerian youth is for those of you who can't make it to Europe, America & Asia for studies, consider Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa (I'm not sure of how much they pay at these places but you can find out). Nigeria will do nothing but cripple your future and by the time you ought to have finished they will bring in their kids whom they have sent abroad with your stolen funds, to rule over you. In the end, most of you will end up on the losing end. It hurts but that's definitely the truth.
Nigeria is going down the drain. Any country that doesn't recognize the plight of her youth has failed and Nigeria is the first country in that category.

Wow! Hum!! I 've just taken my time to read down all contributions made here. Someone should shed tears on what the nigerian education system is passing through. The worst of it is that the people that the people responsible for this are not feeling the heat. They are wicked and heavy hearted, they are not concerned.(sheding tears)
FG, I think I dont need to observe any formality for this writing. Why are you wicked, hardhearted and unconcerned? Has it not got to the time you realise what the hell you are doing to Nigerian development in everywise? For all I know , the boomerang must actually shuffle you. The earlier you come to your senses, the better for you. I'm not requesting neither am I appealing.
President Yar adua
It is not all times that you take full action on what your advisers tell you. I believe you at least have an ordinary common sense as homo erectus not to talk of homo sapiens. Have'nt you considered the stigma that will be recorded in your government that has never been recorded in any government as long as this lingers. Guy reason, at least you are still human. It's not wrong if you make that change that matters. Dont forget your seven points agenda.
ASUU,
I met one of your top staffs in a park one day. I knew he was one of you when he intervened in an argument between a friend and I.We were contemplating on why you should leave about million of youths out there idle and jobless with future wasting. He first asked me if I will like to be a lecturer after graduating. In reply, I said God forbid, that I will never tolerate that. He said that is what they are doing so that young mindsets like us will aspire to come into the field. I reasoned that and and knew that with the way things are going banks and oil firms together with other industries will be were every graduate wil like to be employed backing lecturing jobs. I believe that you are not comfortable with the way things are going cos at least you guys are part of the victims. You know what again to do, have another meeting. If there is another way you will resolve this, please do. We are fade up.

The victims are "fade up", its a pity, the FG is wondering who gave some people license to steal bank money via borrowing. Education is not their priority. Even with the senate and house on recess, money still appeared from no where.

DEAR FG, with due respect, we will like to know to what benefit is of this Non_meeting of the demand of ASUU is to Nigeria? For cryingout loud, we student is no long finding and we will never for once find it funny the long we have spent outside the school due to the incompitence of our FG. if things supposed to be the way it should, then ASUU is dam right for fighting for an increment, afterall educational sector is among the 7POINT agenda and we all know that u cannot achieve this witout granting ASUU regust. pls if not for anything but for the sake of us who seek post secondery education ''we want strike off'' we all know that u government can do something about it but what we dont undestand is why the FG has refusing to attend the most lagest demand of his citizen. Dear ASUU, well done pls keep it up by fighting for your right, it's not just only for yours alone but for the well being of those of us who will be they tommorrow.to make Nigeria a better place of learning is not just by developing her school alone, but also by paying her Techears well.

@Topic
Concerning the prolonged ASUU strike,i feel sorry for the students who's education is being halted BUT let's look at things from another perspective. This government of ours (just like any other government in other countries) do not really care about people's welfare unless the people fight for it.ASUU is not only fighting for better pay, they are also fighting for better funding for institutions.I know how it feels to be at home during the strikes (I spent 8 years studying a 5 year engineering course so i know how it is) but without such actions, we will be in the same phase year in-year out.Nigerians generally have a "siddon look" mentality and the govt knows this and they believe that when the lecturers are tired, they will get back to school.Well, i hope ASUU doesn't bock at this stage. This strike of theirs further exposes the nonchalance of govt to peoples welfare.I mean let's face it, Nigerian universities are simply glorified secondary schools these days. Our degrees are only recognized within this country.Outside, it's as good as trash.A degree from Ghana or Botswana carries more weight that Nigeria.Isn't that a cause for concern?
An average computer engineer fresh from the university cannot reformat a computer talk less of coupling one.I've seen mechanical engineers fresh from school who cannot differentiate between a petrol engine and a diesel engine. There are some people walking around, calling themselves electrical engineers but they will be clueless if you give them a transistor radio to fix not to talk of a stadium electronic score board.Speaking for myself, i had to spend almost a year hanging around computer village boys to garner some experience.Everything i was taught in school was of little or no use to me outside the university walls.OUR SCHOOLS NEED OVERHAULING and these are part of the things ASUU is fighting for.
I know it's hard on the students and a lot don't see any use of the strike but it's for the greater good (i do understand that everyone looks out for themselves though and no one really gives a rats ass about greater good)
Nuff said.
