Is The Average Nigerian's Money Now Safe In Our Banks?
« on: August 21, 2009, 12:30 PM »

Over d past few days i have been pondering Undecided Undecided whether our Money is now safe with the the recent alarm raised by Auditors about Nigerian Banks saying "we doubt their state of health" Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad.

IF the verdict of a renowned auditing firm on Nigerian banks is true, then many depositors may soon be in trouble. The auditing firm, PriceWaterHouseCooper (PWC), on Tuesday gave a damning verdict about some Nigerian banks, saying they might not be as healthy as being portrayed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).  Still on d issue, the auditing firm, known for its uncompromising stand on financial matters, stated in Abuja that many of these banks were not actually healthy.

The renowned audit firm continued in it's statement on the global financial crisis and implications for Nigeria that some of the banks had already signaled interest in government’s intervention in their operational activities. Furthermore, recent threats have emerged on the arrest of bank debtors and seizure of assets. Shocked Shocked

It's only reasonable at this point in time to say that most Nigerian Banks are having a rough time which always affect customers directly or indirectly.May GOD help 9JA and may Nigerians also help themselves. Grin Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Why not name the specific banks in the report and link to it instead of trying to extrapolate from some specific banks to "most banks".  Details matter, man.  Don't generalize.
