INVITATION FOR RECRUITMENT/APPOINTMENT OF CADET ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS OF POLICE, CADET INSPECTORS OF POLICE AND PROFESSIONALS INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals and professionals for appointment into the Nigeria Police Force as
1. Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police
2. Cadet Inspectors of Police
3. Medical Doctors
4. Lawyers
5. Helicopter Pilots
6. Estate Managers
Applicants must have a genuine desire for a career in the Nigeria Police Force and must satisfy the following specific conditions.
A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
i. AGE: Applicants must be between 19 and 28years of age, except Medical Doctors and Helicopters Pilots
ii. HEIGHT: Not less than 1.68metres (5’6”) for male and 1.63 meters (5’4”) for female.
iii. CHEST MEASUREMENT: Expanded chest measurement which is for male only, must not be less than 83cm (34”).
iv. PHYSICAL FITNESS: Candidates must not have any physical deformities or defects and will before appointment, be required to pass a medical examination of physical fitness conducted by a Government Doctor.
B. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. CADET ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS.OF POLICE: Candidates must possess a good Degree in Social Sciences, Arts, Criminology, etc from Universities and Polytechnics recognized by the Federal Government with a minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division Degree Certificate for University Graduates and Upper Credit Certificate for Polytechnic Graduates.
2. MEDICAL DOCTORS/PILOTS/LAWYERS/ESTATE MANAGERS
Candidates must be graduates from Universities and Polytechnics recognized by the Federal Government with a minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division Degree Certificate for University Graduates and Upper Credit Certificate for Polytechnic Graduates.
3. CADET INSPECTORS OF POLICE Candidates must possess a minimum of an OND, NCE or It’s equivalent. All results will be verified.
C. SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS
i. MEDICAL DOCTORS: Applicants must be registered with the Nigerian Medical Association, be qualified to practice in Nigeria and must possess a minimum of MBBS. Additional qualifications and specialization will be an advantage. Special Individual condition (s) and privileges may apply.
ii. HELICOPTER PILOTS: Applicants must be certified commercial Helicopter Pilots with Instrument Rating on Helicopters of at least 1000 flying hours. Additional qualifications and specialization will be an advantage. Special Individual conditions and privileges may apply.
iii. LAWYERS: Applicants must be registered with the Nigerian Bar Association, be qualified to practice in Nigeria and must possess a minimum of Bachelors of Law Degree. Additional qualifications and specialization will be an advantage.
iv. ESTATE MANAGERS: Applicants must possess a Degree/Diploma in Estate Management and must belong to a recognized professional body. Additional qualifications and specialization will be an advantage.
D. TRAINING: Selected candidates, other than specialists, will be required to undergo an 18- month intensive and strenuous training course at the Police Academy, Kano. Specialists will undergo a 6-month course. The course demands a very high standard of physical and mental ability. The training and subsequent practical work will be interesting and excellent facilities for games, athletics and other forms of recreation will be available. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be advanced to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police on probation. Any candidate who fails the end-of-course examination or whose conduct at any time during the course is considered unsatisfactory will have his/her appointment terminated.
E. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: Appointments are permanent and Pensionable, but the initial two years will be on probation. Entrants will be subject to the conditions of service in the Nigeria Police Force as laid down in the Nigeria Police Act &Regulations.
F. METHOD OF APPLICATION: Each applicant is expected to download his/her application forms (four copies) with, the Instructions, free of charge from the Police Service Commission or the Nigeria Police Force Websites @
www.psc.gov.ng and
www.police.gov.ng for completion
Applicants are required to pay a processing fee of Two hundred Naira (N200) to neither of the following Bank Accounts of the Police Service Commission
i. Diamond Bank Account No: 0612 130000413
ii. United Bank for Africa (UBA) Account No: 010 303 0000 6593
Completed application forms should be submitted in quadruplicate and must be accompanied with the followings documents:
1. Photocopies of Birth Certificates/Age Declaration, etc.
2. Photocopies of Credentials
3. Letter of Identification, signed by the Chairman/Secretary of the candidate Local Government Area.
4. Four (40) recent passport photographs
5. Evidence of payment of N200.00 processing fee
6. Two (2) letters of reference from the two (2) referees
ALL DULY COMPLETED FORMS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THE POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE OF THE APPLICANT’S STATE OF ORIGIN OR THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY POLICE COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA AS APPROPRIATE
Not later than 4 weeks from this date of this advertisement.
