The Nigerian Pound (1957).
« on: August 25, 2009, 10:16 PM »

I have had a Nigerian pound note for ages and i always wondered if it was valuable. Anybody have an idea how much someone would pay for a 1957 Nigerian pound?

I don't think anyone would like to buy it, it's useless and worthless.

Nigerian are not huge on Note collections or collections in general. if its not new and shiny, we dont want it! I wish i were in naija i would have bought it tho.

But one pound used to be equivalent of N2 naira after 1960 independence. Even with inflation lets assume its N200. And what are u gonna do with that?

Just frame it and put on your wall, if nothing it will remind you of the Queen of England and the colonization years.

I know a couple of guys (Nigerians and others) who actually collect and sell these things. So yea, the old naija / biafra notes are valuable. I think the guys I know already have the note your referring to though.

Try online searches . . . . you never know.
