@psytarry

Your post would have ranked as one the best I've read here in recent days if not for the style of delivery. Why spoil your intelligent post with that "sms" style of writing? People abbreviate words in text messages because of the character limitations (160 characters) per message. Kindly make your writing a little bit semi-formal. Mind you, I'm not saying you should write like an English language professor o  Grin

Nevertheless, I wish to commend you on the "substance" you loaded us with in that post. It was quite informative. Looking forward to your next post.

Kudos to all the contributors on this post. I've learnt a lot here and I'm still learning. Keep on teaching and informing us.

Please can someone explain to me why Ashaka has been dropping and is there any hope for it rising especially with Obajana making its move to the market?

I'm also interested in this topic, but i have no idea on how to start. I shall be glad
if someone can help provide answers to these questions: What are the requirement to
invest in shares? what is the minimum investment one can start with? which of the
stockbrokers accept this minimum amount? Cos i learnt some won't accept anything
less than 250,000 as minimum investment.

@ xtremeshok,
its very sad to see your first post on this thread as  VERY SENSELESS AND INSENSATE,
somebody who is very dear to us celebrates his birthday and u have the gall to post rubbish,

do u know how much i have leant from him?
if u are loosing your marbles, go see a therapist

we do not know u from ADAm and u use your crooked fingers to type that stuff,
LOOK, THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE U DO NOT, REPEAT DO NOT MESS WITH ON THIS THREAD,
WE HV GROWN TO RESPECT EACH OTHER HERE,

@ MR FRANK,
IT IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE FOR YOU SO ENJOY EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT AND IGNORE THE TWAT
MAY THE GOOD LORD GRANT YOU ALL YOUR HEART DESIRES,
AMEN

BACK to business,

with all this gist bout doom and correction, i am getting scared oooo
i am really exposed to the stock market especially the banking sector,
if the so called correction happens, how long do u think it will last before the BULLS come into the market again,

PS-THANKS TO ALL WHO WISHED A GREAT MAN A FUFILLING DAY,

Ashaka's Full year 2006 result came out about 3 weeks ago. It shows a 24% reduction in earnings over the previous year. Not the right direction for a stock to be heading especially with Obajana on production. I don't see much hope for a turn-around unless they release some interim results showing increased earnings. Sell.

@Tmoni, you should not be scared there are still some positive things to look at like the declining of the dollar, it may just  tempt some REAL FOREIGN INVESTORS to come in and not just Nigerians abroad but don't hold your breath Nigeria was still way down on the bottom list  of countries that offered good ROI on stocks for last year.

Just try to ensure you do not have a lot of speculative stocks in your portfolio and even if you have, be ready not to be too sentimental or greedy afterall there is a cap on how much the stock can fall in a day.

As per how long it will take before the BULLS come back to the market again well maybe BIGBOY LARRY can bring his Crystal Ball for consultation.

My advice don't loose sleep the market has it's own mind / psychology sometimes which can defy all economics, for instance the UK stocks did not bat an eyelid when the interest rate went up a couple of weeks ago and we are still waiting the property doom.
