@Nairalanders

Hear that Transcorp now to seek refund of money paid for Nitel from government. That should be no biggie.

What will be better is for Transcorp to keep a stake in Nitel and get refund for the rest, as is likely. This way everybody is satisfied - WE THE OWNERS OF TRANSCORP, the anti-Obasanjo enemies of Transcorp, the unions etc.

My main concern is that the leadership of Transcorp is so hopelessly compromised that they cannot play hardball with the government.

Those who sold their shares in the company prematurely after urging the public to buy at 7.50N should not continue at the helm.

Vote for Samstone4 for Transcorp board. I will represent the interest of the talakawas. The revolution has begun.

Daar communication I think should have gotten their act together and produce decent programmes that are of high standard before selling some stock to the public. I was not interested in their pp last year and will not be interested in their IPO next month.

The number of shares being sold are small and because people like buying I expect mass over subscription and return of money. High price then medium stabilization. Not much action until  quarterly results get released then a big PO  in a couple of years with lots of shares being sold and the price heading south or not changing much.

Anyway what I wanted to upload was the financials and some projections I received from Multilink last month on a USB. It does not mention the pp as it is going to be very private later this year. The entry price I have been told will be quite high- but I do not expect this to stay as MTN’s didn’t. I found the projection quite interesting but I am yet to determine how realistic. Anybody interested I am sure can obtain the same info I received by contacting them.

Interswitch will release their documents later (within 12 weeks) and one of the firms it is likely to place through is WSTC.

Starcomms- IBTC.

I did try that mega upload site but  I’m not sure what I did wrong. Then when I wanted to download what I thought I had uploaded it would count down it seconds then show me nothing. I gave up. But Pumping and Roughcut thanks for trying to guide me.

I did not get time to do my thread. It is not important anyway. I will try and log in over the week end and start.  Must go now, thank you.

The much heralded turn-around for this company has failed to materialize too many false starts if you ask me so not sure a significant upside to this one for the time-being. Having said that na so a lot of peeps talk for CI Leasing last year that its not yet time for the stock not until 2009 but we know better now

Any company that records a huge loss now is my target.  Look at Cutix, it has made close to 100% after a woeful result, Look at Evans medical, it has recorded over 90% after a gangantuan loss.  Look at Transcorp, no result, but it is even on BID during TS, and many others.  Then see Diamond bank with good result, na push and start, First bank, push and start, UBA na push and no start sef.   NSEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Understand that even though a fundamentally good company announces a not so good result, it may not be all that bad as long as the company itself hasnt changed. it just had a bad quarter or year. now u also have to ask why? it could be that business is normally slow at that time of year or it could be( more dangerously), that their market is shrinking.

In the case of the big boys u mentioned ie fbn and co, u know their time will surely come. it takes a lot to move their prices and one reason is thta they are nominally thought to be high already

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians

The thread posted above by blueband is sort of contradictory because from what he wrote, he gave mandates to his account officer within 2days to sell his stock then later not to. I am very sure the account officer was effective enough to do the jobbing of the sale-order & the stock had been included among those to be sold on that day's trading before you actually changed your mind about the said stocks.
I believe that Cashcraft being a world-class financial service company follows due process in transacting business deals in the capital market as evident by their track record.
I suggest blueband should always endeavour to relate with his account officer as touching his investment portfolios at any point in time.
