for now the stock market is a no go area for me,   but i seek partnership that can raise five million naira for a foreign exchange project.   The partner receives sixty percent in one year. view details here,  http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-279555.0.html .

That advice maybe for last week, right now I would advise wait for the current profitakers to complete their onslaught unless you are investing for long term.

I don't think it is possible. Transaction will take T+3 for the money to be available to you for the next transaction, where T is the day your shares were sold/bought. That is to say, every sell/buy order is completed in 4 days ( just say 1 week because trading on the NSE is for 5 days i.e monday to friday only). In essence, you can, at best, buy and sell once a week and this is assuming that you have a very efficient stockbroker that is up and doing. From experience, I have given oders for sell or buy to my stockbroker that stayed 3 weeks or more before execution.

The stock market is not a kalokalo spot. U need to understand the market before u play the market, lset you get your fingers burnt. 2 days is too short a time to reap except you want to turn the stock market to wonder banks.

So you mean there is no room yet to trade Nigerian stocks atleast on every two day basis?Well,I know we will get there somedays.

hi,
i never knew there was a section on stocks.i would have been contributing earlier.

from some of the posts i have seen recently, there are a lot of newbies already investing or intending to invest in the stock market. Please, please, please you have to first get knowledgeable before you become a trader. its better for you to start investing passively while you get educated. you have to read books, attend seminars and so on. there is no perfect guru in any market but it is important for you to know how the market works, so that you do not burn your fingers.

@presido, what you just wrote is a NO,NO,NO. you should have learnt a lesson from the recent crash, i use to say 'only you can protect your investment'. so first get knowledgeable because if something happens you would say 'so,so person advised me to buy'.you need to first define your goals before knowing which stocks to invest in. but for now, when the market is recovering, target dividend and bonus giving stocks with good fundamentals.

@ernest,you have already said you are a newbie, i wouldnt advise you to start as a trader till you learn the ropes. so invest. get hold of stockwatch, moneywise, success digest extra and try to educate yourself.

@viewus,Afroil.hmn, there is still a lot of controversy surrounding this stock. it is a high risk stock with questionable fundamentals, i wonder who advised you to buy that in the first place. their case is still on.

i strongly believe in the nigerian stock market, unfortunately the goldmine we couldnt see, foreigners spotted out at a distance and pounced on the market.please key in before they take over our economy.

however, because i know that a lot of people do not have the basic education in stock investment and most of the books out there are a bit complicated, i have read a lot of them and attended some seminars that have left some people even more confused, i took it upon myself to write a book titled "Beginners guide to stock investment". it also has a 30days money back guarantee. So i would advise anyone interested or if you would like a free information first to contact me on 08055180507 or send me a mail to stockinvestment4newbie@gmail. with the text "i'm interested, give me details, your name, phone and email".meanwhile check out some useful stock articles at www.stockmarketnigeria.com where i write articles. My name is Faith Zakari. Call me for any clarifications.

For the blue chips that are shedding weight now,due to the effect of profit-takers,I'd suggest a little more patience till they drop a bit further before giving that buy mandate

Yes, that is it.
Most stocks are definately going to do price adjustment after their dividend and bonus payment. So, watchout when the correction is done and hop in.
It is now obvious that the meltdown in the stockmarket has bottomed and the bull is ready to roar again. Investors are advised to come out of their hidding and join the market once more. Good luck to you all.
