Hi ,
  If you trust the stockbroker,it is to ennable the stockbroker to buy and sell on your behalf without having to go to the office everytime time to sign the   share transfer forms .However ,you must instruct them before they make any transaction on your behalf or better still treat your investment like a baby and watch over it daily,
Use a stockbroker that ennable to check your account online.e.g cashcraft and fsdh securities ltd

I really wonder what the banks taking more money than they need? Do they just want the short-lived title of the biggest/largest banks in Nigeria or they really have plans for the money?
I think most of them are lazy, they cant be bothered with the hassle of returning money to investors; they are very quick to postpone closing dates though.

   @sbm4real

      3 months is a short time to make good returns unless you are an experienced TRADER  like easimoni. Easi has suggested Crusader ins lately , you

might  throw your question in that direction.I am more into long term investing ,though i take profits when good opportunities show up. As per your

contributing monthly to invest , that is a good way to start.Discipline yourself  by reinvesting the proceeds. U would do well in the long term.Also know

that you need to INVEST IN YOURSELF.It is the best way to make money in the long run , learn as fast as you can and READ THIS THREAD OFTEN, that

way you can learn from others.Still learning myself. If you don not learn you will be dependent on the GURUS .Often the Guru will tell you when to buy a

stock , but when to sell is up to you .And know when to sell a stock is very important. Sorry i cant help much ,others will surely give you ideas. Goodluck.

   @Frank Iriri ,

 your e-ram shall be credited to your CSCS acc in december ,thats when we observe EID-EL-Kabir. In the meantime , more grease to your elbow, sorry ,

your whole body !

Re:Will OCEANIC'S price rally higher or what?
« #3209 on: October 13, 2007, 01:12 PM »

 Undecided Undecided :-\I'd appreciate @"gurus" help resolve the tecnicality headache of whether OCEANIC'S price would rise or fall.My own thinkng:I use a stage-by-stage approach.Firstly,a great full-year result with greater earnings translates to increased per share earnings(EPS) that can accomodate,even,a bonus script.Consider that the added dilusion by current oversubscription affects EPS not at the anticipated full-year result,but from 1st Q next financial year.Secondly,and to me this is the question,would investors have enough faith in the bank in its ability to translate huge funds into huger earnings to accomodate all of its 22B shares?This is the only way EPS stays high.The price then follows suit.

In response to Krrush's comment as to whether the huge funds in oceanic bank's possesion can be translated into more profit for all shareholders(i.e a higher E.P.S). Well i strongly believe that the banks ability to create value in line wth investors expectations will depend on a large extent as to whether the growth the Nigerian Economy is experiencing (in GDP terms) can be sustained and the banks ability to expand aggressively and tap into foreign markets.
    I'm quite confident in the nigerian economy as well as oceanic bank's management team.

Aside from the fact that they get to be tagged big, they can enjoy the benefits of economies of scale. I am aware that since the begninning of the capitalistion process the banks have been able to take on bigger ticket transactions which hitherto would have been carried out by only foreign banks.

@ wanajo, what was your take on that result from university press? not bad ehn? however, loooking at their five year records profit seems to fluctuate, doesnt seem to grow steady.

on another note just thought id let evry1 know i was watching CNN over the weekend and got to business international where analysts were looking at markets in asia and how theyve grown so fast. many of these analysts said the bubble would burst soon and commented on how stocks are doing up to 25 times its current earnings and im thinking 25?? banks here are doing mid thirties. just some foodfor thought for evry1. lets not get carried away.
