Yodiyokun, not sure the existing shareholders got a better deal. Before, you are almost guaranteed the extra you applied for in a rights issue.

Dangote Sugar is doing fine but will wait for it to crash the 40.00 band. Once that is done, we can shout helluva.

Diamond is next on my list. Still scouring for the next HIT after that.

Chellarams is representing, gained 5%. Nigerian German must hit 28 by fire by force.

For 2008, my bet is on Dangote Sugar and First Bank. They both have things going in their favour. If the expansion effort of Dangote should materialise, that is the bomb.

Flour Mills will come a distant 3rd but that is dependent on the Q2 result.

For the small caps, Trans Express and Capital Oil are still moving steadily.

I will be cycling in and out of FCMB, Bank PHB and Diamond in that order(timing is very crucial). In actual fact if you buy the Diamond GDR now it works out at ~N16(cheaper than the quoted price and thanks to the weakening dollar) and i think it was mentioned it takes about 9 days to convert your GDR to ordinary shares.

Dont have the stomach for the GDR reference price nonsense those who bought the GTB GDR got ripped off when the reference  price that was eventually  fixed for the GDR  worked out as being more expensive than those who originally bought the GDR when it was listed

if a sizeable number of people convert thier GDRs to ordinary shares, that surely will cause a dilution of earnings.
not sure i like that

i hope it doesn't happen too often

Aside, I am not so sure Diamond will respond ojere.

FCMB dey for technical suspension, I will wait till its lifted.

Waiting for UNIC to take a further beating - to 3 Naira.

GTB is definitely looking good - keeping my eye on it for Month end.

I just want to be sure I am on the right track

You can actually elect to have your shares listed as ordinary shares from the onset and I hear the conversion fees have been waived for this too. The shares are expected to be credited in January. At a price of N16.50 this is the discount of the moment.

Just keep trying to get it daily while you can through out the offer. Some will sell. Two weeks to TS expiration may not suffice any longer.

C&i leasing have dropped consistently in the last 2-3 days and are a long term play for me as well (if my broker can pull his finger out)

i will just chill for now and i'm not planning any capital injection into my protfolio till beginning of 2nd quarter '08. will be looking at unilever closely though.turnaround company, finally cleaning up their act.
