I am still watching UBA. Does anyone in the house have reasons to think this stock will rally in a two month time frame?
The end of year is gone and the profitability trend is on the up scale. If we wait for the results to be announced, peharps you will see it to buy at N65-N70 range.

Yesterday’s transaction on inerenergy ins. was very heavy, about 120 mil exchanged hands, I am seeing it as a point of inflection, by that I mean that demand has started to match supply; hence price will start to change. I also think that the stock may experience some loss in price for a few days until such a time those buyers will see the price as low enough to enter.

Setting my target for entry at N1.50- N1.55. May be lucky if it flls to this.

Two of the most important results you learn to look out for is the 3months result and the 9months results for many blue chip companies.
The 3months results helps to make start projections for the full year projections for that stock and hence a new price level for it is set.
The 9months tends to help you confirm if all has been well for most of the year and projections are in line.
Right now i'm taking positions for their Q1 08' which should be due late jan/early feb 08'.

@ All,

News from the grapevine

Dangote flour may be listed first quarter next year, preferably february and heard it was highly oversubscribed and may gather a strong rally too.

Any views on this

Still a strong believer that UBA will rally to about 65 next year first quarter.

Big problem though is that, many prospects now but few cash  Huh Huh Huh

My advice to you in 08' , just learn how to hold cash. When you get your margin, sell and hold.Opportunities pop up weekly.

Thats why I want to be like you and have the experience to make the cash so that there will be enough cash to take positions early enough.

Investing wisely.

Thanks bro and I have decided that once I sell my stocks, the cash is held for future purchases. Tht way, I end up compounding the rate of return which makes it more profitable.

Thanks again sir. Very grateful.

I still haven’t gotten a satisfying answer to one question bugging my mind. Supposing your stock broker fails to meet the 1 bil naira capital base by next yr end, and your stocks are still lodged with him, what happens to the stocks since the broker will not be allowed to trade on them forthwith?

Some guys I have talked to seems to think there are better bargains in the secondary market that beats AIICO offer for now. And they are in the insurance sector.

Please fill me in on such opportunities o.

I think Aiico is a very good deal. The downside will be oversubscription.

The new share are entitled to bonus and dividend and forward PE for 2008 at offer price is around 10. I expect at least 100% capital appreciation in just 6 months.

Note that Aiico is currently priced so low on the floor because of TS, otherwise, the floor price would be abound N4.50.

Hey guys, What do you think about the last GTB GDR?
I just got the cert.
Which is better:
1. Hold the certificate for long term

2. Sell the GDR on the London Stock Exchange

3. Request that the GDR be converted to ordinary shares of GTB. The conversion ratio is 50 shares for 1 GDR.

This is interesting.GDR that was only floated recently you have received the certificate.Maybe because it was floated on the LSE  and Diamond Bank is bound by their rules.
