could u please say how reliable your source is? i think listing it that late after close of applications will really trigger a massice bull rally. lol. i bought a paltry  15,000units,  do u think this would be considered for 'downsizing.'??  i wouldnt think this was large enough though.

With regards to Dangote flour, my source is from the issuing house and I no go mention name because I no fit allow make person come sue me oh.

Because of all this over-over-over  subscription wey dey market, I decided to narrow my limit to 10,000. I wanted to purchase 25, 000 units so I did it by proxy through my mum and my sister with 10,000 and 5,000 respectively.

I cannot say if 15000 is too much but will clarify from my source (funny I forgot to ask him)

Also expect a charging bull run but may not be as strong as flour. Believe me, Dangote would not want to lose out on this one. Bull run makes him richer, and we too,  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I still haven’t gotten a satisfying answer to one question bugging my mind. Supposing your stock broker fails to meet the 1 bil naira capital base by next yr end, and your stocks are still lodged with him, what happens to the stocks since the broker will not be allowed to trade on them forthwith
asking same question,
but i think the best strategy for now is to stay with firms attached to banks(to be on a safe side),because they will surelly meet up with the required capital.
expect a lot of PP's and IPO's from most brokers in 2008,to be the rat race.
it is a pity no clear inform is coming out from NSE,concerning this recapitalization issue.

Hence the BGL PP Grin wonder who all is buying that one, if big folks like BGL havent reached that one comfortable, folks with smaller brokers be careful. Hope its a smooth transition that doesnt affect the market too much

Carry your money and craze go Afrinvest. They are more sane than the orders.

Repeat again: Brokers are good for purchase and sale. You must be firm with them.

Na your money they pay them give them commission and salary

Do not allow any broker play on your intelligence.

If you are not domiciled here, request for responses, contract notes, emails for confirmation et al.

My broker is my friend only on weekends and public holidays

But on working days, I dictate what is done with my money and with strict, firm instructions

Happy investing.

Did you just say Meristem? Well, I was thinking they are a very nice outfit (never used them myself) until somebody in a thread in stockmarketnigeria.com ripped them to pieces. He says their service delivery is horrible and that they have untrained receptionists. Check out the thread called First bank allocation in that forum for more reading.

If you are abroad isnt it better to fill out a copy of the Zenith Bank PO form , scan it and ask someone (a friend/or family member) in Nigeria to print it out and help you to purchase it in Nigeria ? Its better than sending funds by SWIFT transfer through Correspondent Banks. Thats how I've been purchasing all the IPO's and PO's from UK-the scanned copies are accepted as being valid.
