I'm surprised that "supposed" matured men and women are debating such a nonsence, a computer generated pics,
Gbenga is dressed as he does when going to an occasion and obasanjo is too casual to be at an occasion that way,
and for those saying its ritualistic, pls kindly upgrade / update your medulla, do u carry a camera man to a ritual (perhaps because u wanna show off)

nonsense post, totally useless.  Lips sealed Kiss Lips sealed

@ All,
it was true that obj fed ogd but the photograph was taken on New Day when OGD went to greet OBJ at home, so many people were there that day eating that cake, there was gossip of misunderstanding btw OBJ and OGD in town then and I think OBJ displayed that gesture to tell people there was no misunderstanding between them as public perceived.  The poster should have pasted the whole photograph showing other people that were with them.
I wish you all the best.

In the part of Yoruba land (in Ondo state) where I come from it is common practice for an elder to put pieces of food (or cola or even drinks) into the mouth of younger ones, and women,  during common social celebrations. This feeding practice has nothing ritualistic or fetish about it, it is a pure cultural non religious practice. It usually connotes an acceptance-honor/respect attitude on the part of the offering elder and the receiving junior.

And the pix is old news and real.

I think people can try not to be as trivial as this post.

I think whatever the game they are playing I belief this is not right thing to do I disagree with some saying it is African tradition what tradition are they taliking about is OBJ the governor father? So those who said it is African culture can they go to the street and being feed by mouth by another man?And I cant understand why this governor a young man of recent generation should always have his name on this kind of uncommon character that emulate cultist lifestle this is quiet a worrisome thing. Nobody will ever see this without asking a million question I think this particular governor should please stay out ofall these stuffs of thing that will bring about questions to his intergrity.

All too common practice in Ethiopia - sign of affection and acceptance. Obj is very cultured, we should know that by now.

Yes, I would say it's a tradition. Yoruba has long history of cultured-tradition.
Type Yoruba religion on wiki, it's placed side by side with Xnity and Islam.

I dont think we should end-up mixing two different things here, they dont even look alike! Grin

Yoruba culture is one.
OBJ as a personality is another.

That Yoruba culture allows the "younger" to be subservient to the "elder" is no news!
The level of respect younger ones are expected to show to older people is legendary and that explains why it is about the Yoruba culture only, where another human (younger) is expected to prostrate, as a sign of greeting (but more as a sign of submission, since in that position, you're at the mercy of the older fella you're prostrating to!), its has been and will continue to be in practice.

An "Elder" (mark my words please!) may feed a younger one, for no apparent reason or more-so, in traditional ritualistic and non-ritualistic moments. No big deal (its mostly done for noble purpose, in the days of our fore-fathers before the current set of aged but useless charlatans assumed the stage Huh )
On that level, we may or may not read meanings into the picture, if actually it is not doctored.

The other more serious issue will be addressed later Grin
