Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB
« on: September 02, 2009, 07:10 AM »

Does anyone have any opinion, suggestion, experience or question (good/bad) about PHB?. I am particularly interested in her NIDA products and I love her Easy Remit service. Can anyone give me a leg up before I make commitment to this bank?. Thank you.

Nick, I have read a lot about Bank PHB bad customer service, but still determined to give them a shot. I filled their NIDA package form online, its been more than 2 weeks and no one contacted me, someone on another thread did get the contact of their NIDA department and send him/her a mail but no response. I asked myself why pay huge sum of money to run adverts on CNN when you are not equipped to respond to online customers. IMO they aint better that a "Microfinance outlet" , someone should tell them to stop wasting money on those advert, anyway another list of CEOs to be sacked will be revealed in a couple of days/weeks

Bank PHB are running adverts on CNN because they are trying to enter Namibia market. They currently hold a temp license.
Which of those banks is even better? Birds of the same feather flocks together. I cant wait to see the new list of defective CEOs although most of the exercise of this Sanusi of a guy is pure politics and witch-hunting.

Bank PHB has the worst customer relationship in Nigeria,i was enticed with their adverts and brands so i decided to open account with them.I met one untrained lady who was their customer service officer, all through my interaction with her,she never used the world please. She was commanding me from one point to another.

The "Aboki" origin of the bank is written everywhere in their operations. The service rendered is a far cry from all the bill boards erected every where.

Hmm lets take it easy with them, with time they will improve someday if we start telling them their problems. i just opened an account with them and though it has some issues like you have all stated above but i still want to give them the benefit of doubt for now.

@feasy1 and nick1 if you need the email address of the person opening my nida account i can give it to you because she communicates with me very well and she is very helpful. she works in bankphb and the easy remit thing works only from the us uk and canada i think but not else where.

if you want to know anything about the nida account you can ask i can be of help.

My friend went to Phb to chek his acct balance on their ATM.The machine showed that he has N883,080 he was surprised because he hadnt seen that kind of money all his life.He walks into the bank to confirm frm the customer care.He was told that it was an error frm their ATM machine outside.

NIDA ---- Nigerians In Diaspora Accounts. That is Nigerians living abroad.

Skye Global account is the best to me and i have been very satisfied with them.

There is UBA NRN. Non Resident Nigerians Account

Oceanic NID Nigerians In Diaspora

Diamond Reach Account

But on the other hand i am putting a break on anything banking in Nigeria ooo till this sanusi tsunami and storm is over. Make any bank no go down with my hard earned money oooo. Intercontinental can go down with my shares because it is already useless self.

why is everyone mentioning Bank PHB without stating what your grievance is,
For those who have challenges dealing with the bank why not send your grievance to PHBLink@bankphb.com
There is no institution in Nigeria or US or UK without its problems
Afterall about 75 banks have failed in the US since this global crisis started
Some of the oldest and perceived strong banks in Europe have also failed
so why are you guys making it look like Nigeria, where only five banks have be "pushed" to fail have problems
The truth is that going by current happenings in the global banking industry, your money may be safer in Nigeria
than in any bank around the world

Your bank is fcuked up juh.
I applied for online banking with PHB about 14 freaking months ago. I am yet to receive shit. I have been to your useless bank to fill out the nonsense forms FIVE FREAKING TIMES.
I just withdrew my last kishi a few days ago.
I will rather bank with an archaic (First bank) than a new generation bank that acts like their service is a privilege.

Why not just get a Standard Chartered account instead of routing money through several correspondent banks? I have a fixed deposit account with PHB but it's a quid pro quo (deposit for sex) arrangement. The chick is a lovely albino with faux hair extensions and gleaming skin.

I only banked with PHB during my service year a few years ago in lagos until one customer service girls called me a 'bloody corper' always disturbing them about allowee.
Of course the next time i went there was to close the account and never went back and i even told all who cared to listen then never to do anything with the yeye bank again.
Dont know if they have changed now, sure hope so.
by the way, the branch was the one at allen round about in ikeja.

My guy na strictly on business levels and nothing else.  Them be two actually wey dey in charge to open my nida account and although problems dey because of my documents but them still do am and even do internet banking for me the next day. All the email and process wey dem go through internally to do am na him dem forward give me. Though the internet banking never work i guess na until i deposit first sha.  For my own if them get 5000 employees, i no believe say na all of them go bad. some self individually good on thier own. With the little wey these girls dem do for me na him i dey recommend them so.

@ Reindeer, Bloody corper! That was very harsh,  But u cant judge a whole bank with with one person's attitude. I am very sure they have efficient staff too. your experience withthat particular staff is opposite of blackravo's. I have always wanted to have an account back home,  i will wait for his response. I just hope i will not be messed up with their online banking, wont have tofill the form a million times like my other friend that filled the online  banking form 5times without success,

The internet banking is not working yet and i actually have with skye and gtb. For bankphb you can fill everything online and then attach you documents in jpeg formats or you can print the form fill it and scan to nida helpdesk with all your documents they will open it for you.

If you want straight forward sharp sharp account opening with internet access and international money transfer then go for skye bank, with gtb i have a savings account with internet banking but not full because i need to be physically present in Nigeria to obtain the hardware  for full banking. There are other means to do it but i don't want to bear the financial cost for now.

These banks are improving everyday let us encourage them. I should say i have with intercontinental as well and i had both good and bad experience but i will not want to condemn them just like that. You can encounter 100 rough customer service and maybe someday encounter a good one that will over impress you.

I know what just happened because you cannot send mail to those people directly i think. they have an email verification process first before you can start sending mail to anyone of them so i think you should send an email to that nidahelpdesk so let me give you here or you can possibly call if you wish and this is also the address you have to post to if you are using the post. You can also do it online or print fill and scan everything to them. www.nida.bankphb.com

Okay i see and the reason for this tread was that the reality you will get doing business with the bank does not correlate with the hype on their website and adverts on CNN. Here is their website anyway if you want to check. www.bankphb.com .
