@davidylan,
Do as God leads? That can not work.
Yes, it cant work IN ISLAM because allah is completely impersonal to you. You will never see his face, he does not communicate with slaves like you, even mohammad never heard him speak personally, mohammad was terrified to the point of death of the alleged "angel" who revealed the quran to him.
Yes it cannot work IN ISLAM because you are nothing but a slave, a deluded blind bat worshiping a "god" you dont know.
In Jesus Christ IT IS DIFFERENT AND IT WORKS . . . because Christ is in us the HOPE OF GLORY. God spoke face to face with Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Elisha . . . yes God led Paul, Barnabas, Samuel, Peter, Philip . . . Stephen. We know because God has promised us His spirit to guide and to teach us all things.
Sorry . . . you cannot speak for the christian.
Anybody can come out of nowhere and decide to 'do as God leads' even when they are unsure of whether it is God or satan leading them or just their personal inclination/intuition. That is what has led to so many different sects in christianity. With the different sects claiming they are the ones in the right. There should, infact there MUST be clearly outlined laws that point out what should be done in order to avoid the confusion that there is today, anybody would know this.
God already gave us CLEARLY OUTLINED details IN HIS BIBLE.
There are "clearly outlined laws" in islam but it still has sects no?
And why do you do as the disciples did? Were they the ones who came to establish christianity on earth? You mentioned with the verses you quoted, that you fast for spiritual renewal because the disciples did so.
These were the disciples who walked 3 yrs with Christ . . . they are examples unto us.
thou hypocrite . . . is your own hadith not an example of simply regurgitating what mohammad did?
In that wikipedia link, it is stated that Matthew 17:21 is absent from the modern translations of the Bible which are based upon the EARLIEST manuscripts. As for where the other translations that have the verse come from, don't ask me. Ask the translators/compilers of the translations.
Lastly, turning the other cheek does not mean attacking back. It means overlooking. Don't change the meaning.
That is absolutely NOT TRUE . . . what then where the 1000 yr old translations of the bible based on? the later manuscripts? If they could contain Matt 17:21 then which "earliest manuscripts" did the "modern translations" use?
We know this is untrue because when you compare the old vs "modern" translations you notice a clear deceptive trend . . . you NEVER FIND whole passages missing, they all contain the EXACT SAME stories but with one verse missing here and there. The JW bible for instance has specific verses missing that undermine their warped theology . . . of course they lie to you that they used the "earliest" translations.
