While it is very evident that we are in a very bad state, we must not loose sight of the fact that Tunisia might actually slip and we will still not be able to take advantage.

In CAN 2008 we were at the brink of not making the quarter finals and  were too engrossed with the likely accord match between CIV and MALI and saw  that as  the only problem. Some even went ahead to state confidently that ,since Drogba's wife was a malian Nigeria stood no chance.

When the match proper started CIV was already 2 goals up but Nigeria was still struggling to get a single goal against Benin. In the end a miracle happened , we defeated Benin and qualified.

We know the qualification is no more in our hands , but lets avoid a scenario where Tunisia will drop points and we still will not be able to take advantage.

No one gave the USA any chance in their last group match in the just concluded confederation  cup, but they did what they had to do against Egypt  and fortune smiled on them.

Lets sack Amodu and get someone that will at least guarantee the remaining 6 points. Anything can still happen.

So Jay Jay will now also star in the current soap opera titled"the saga of the football nitwits with bloated egos".I'm really looking forward to watching the series on national TV,I only hope it'll be as interesting as the previous two soaps, namely "how not to run football in a country" and "hurray;mr clueless is our national coach"

As far as I am concerned, anything that can be done to salvage these not-so Super Eagles should be done. If J.J. is going to be the tonic to rejuvenate this team then so be it. In fact for now, I suggest they revert to Green Eagles, as there is nothing super about that team right now.

That guy's got reputation and he's about to ruin it.I'm afraid i might not like him again when he goes there and messes thing up for himself cos every has already gone bad and even if the circumstances were to be normal,he wont make it cos he's not a coach.

Those who think Eguaveon was not a great coach because he was sacked should consider the condition under which he worked.

Galadinma's politics was responsible for Eguaveon's failure.

Okocha has nothing to offer the national team from the technical aspect of the game. Now that he is retired and won't miss his way to the airport like he did in London in 2005 maybe he can motivate the players. Let them leave Amodu alone.

Why doesn't he join as a player. I believe JJ can still play since we don't have players now. Technical crew? Okay, if the monsters at NFF will let him do his work.

This administration,NFF and those in charge of football in this country don't know what they are doing. First they appointed AModu that was the sign where we were heading to in football then they put Amokachi now Jay Jay. PLSSS, Football in this country is finished at this rate. Have they never heard that too many books spoil the broil. Don't just give a job 2 someone cause  you want him to earn a pay cheque but cause he can deliver results. Get someone hungry for glory. Give Jay Jay the job then remove Amodu and everyone and let Jay Jay try his game plan and lets see. Guess this government that doesn't want to pay lecturers juicy pay cheque would prefer to waste money on a mediocre coaching team. Cheerio, anyways I don't waste my precious time and heart on Nigerian football or any. Not worth it

If JJ is interested in the post, then let him accept. To those saying he doesn't know anything about the technicalities, can you please explain what anyone needs to join a coaching crew apart from years of active football and maybe some schooling? If it were some other country, they would welcome JJ with welcome arms and be glad to have him but we Nigerians are swift to condemn. As they say, a prophet is unappreciated in his homeland.Even some of the best coaches today were the worst players during their time.So why condemn him?People forget that not so long ago, he was the sensation of the world and the soul of soccer in Nigeria.

my beef and question is simple as i dont like complicated issues."which group of pple are responsible for the conspiracy and  assult on our national team called Shuiabu Amodu"? the fact that nigeria wont be able to do one simple thing right has become an acceptable way of life in that jungle.we used to be respected with football, now see what we have turned into. as for JJ,we can only wish him luck if he wants to join the circus and be a super clown.bt he will have to find out for himself that Maradonas quick aging is really not on the account that the guy loves to powder his nostrils.

this is nonsense, rubish, set of foolish disgusting people. we are talking about sacking some of this over belleful people to put people that knows wat they are doing. am tired of seein same face in the super eagles crew, both footballers and coaching crew. there are many talented kids out there. lets move some and breed more. I can remember telling everyone on this house that i am not comfortable with the match am not certain and see it. they are even bubbling in failure.
