well, guess we may at some point in time leave sentiments and emotions outta matters of the economy. some of these banks are actually over staffed. at the height of the consolidation, most went of recruitment jamboree and staff poaching even when it wasnt economically justified. you have staff employed before what job porfolio to assign to such is even given a thot.

its painful for those who'l be affected but deep in our hearts, a lot knew this would still come to happen, was just a matter of time. with the world economy recession and business cutting down on jobs world-wide and our exposure to the main financial hub of the world, US and UK, it was only a matter of time the wave would get to us.

even when things stabilise and economy output improves, i doubt if the massive rate of employment by banks will resume. it'l be a time of making more by using less.

Thank You. Opening bank branches at a rate that did not make sense when you compare it to the rate at which people were opening accounts with the banks.

Too bad, Most of our graduates who seek to work in banks should reconsider thair stand and make efforts to be self employed. There is no guarantee of job security in the banks!

brother, the economic downturn is not restricted to banks alone. well before now
the textile industry has been taking the heat. so also other sectors.
