It has been very long time Nigeria has been peddling sham-coaches to herself or to other nations in the continent. But the question is 'Have we ever had a coach, or Do we have a coach in Nigeria? Especially, when we talk of a competent coach to win or duel a (tough) match. This raises questions like:
- Who is a coach? - What are the criteria that make a coach? - What are the duties of a competent coach in the field during a match and outside the field? - What are the para-experiences that must be possessed by a coach? For more guidlines:
- Onigbinde is a trainer for discipline and selection of players to be a team. He's not a coach yet. - Eaguavon is a trainer built on past experiences and fielder. Yet, he's not a coach. - Chukwu is a rehearse trainer built on old experiences. Yet, he's not a coach. - Shuaibu is a trainer, fielder and a lucky dependant. Yet, he's not a coach. - Siasia is a trainer and an emotional fielder. Yet, he's not a coach. - Daniel Amokachi is an emotonal trainer. Yet, he's not a coach. So well of Fani Amu and the others. They are football lovers. Some of them maintain one or two of a coach criteria and lack the rest.
