Do You Pay Fine For Someone Reporting You For Spamming
« on: September 11, 2009, 08:58 PM »

Hi want to find out this, do you have to pay a fine to a webhost you didn't send mails on their server, but got a complaint from a third party that you are spamvertising?
Can you be suspended that way without been informed ? even when is clear you aren't involve in any criminal activities.

Complaints or allegations must be proven before any actions are taken unless of course the people in charge have a mindset that may have been as a result of previous experiences.

However, being bold enough to stand your ground and defend yourself is something you must consider otherwise the complaints will simply be seen as facts.

The Web host is very much in order. Unfortunately, most Nigerians do not read a company's Terms of Service before signing up. Stuff like that would have been clearly stated there and you agreed to it.

Spamvertising is the act of sending unsolicited emails to promote your website. The only evidence your webhost will need is a copy of the unsolicited email from the complainant containing a link to your domain name.

Email addresses can be faked and some email programs can allow someone use an email address that does not exist to send an email.

So, with such scenarios it will be very wrong for a web host to punish a client for something outside his/her control.
