I dont know how to explain that again, i am not a programmer.

We were talking about specific stuff, i didnt put up the site for a 'review' or for comparism

My question was quite simple:

Do you do the XHTML, CSS and Javascript or the strictly back end (PHP/JSP, SQL, etc)?

You didn't explicitly ask for a review but you did so implicitly by posting the URL.  Come on, don't tell me that you didn't expect anyone to click the link.  In other words, you gave yourself the rope to hang yourself.

Again, no worries, the site as you said is coming down.

Who are you asking?

Me?

Moderator?

The programmer you have conveniently blamed for all the war zone blunders on your project?

why are you replying me after banning me.

I dont do xhtml, css or javascript (just started learning) neither do i do any back-end programming.
if i didnt want folks to click why the heck did i put it up?? like i said we were talking on specific stuff
the role of a web designer, so no need to change the topic.

meanwhile , your double standards are quite the example.

1) I can't ban people.  That's Seun's domain.  Next time, ask as opposed to drawing conclusions

2) He he.  You are very slick.  You didn't expect people to click the link or comment on it?  This is definitely the thread of the year

3) I don't flag posts for spam/have the authority to "un-remove" them from the spam list. I can read them but I can't do anything about it other than let Seun know.  By the way, 2 of Afam's posts have been flagged too.  So again, don't draw conclusions.

4) double standards? Please explain.

Hmm, Nigerians and multiplicity of identities.

And everyday we complain of our leaders when we have to use multiple usernames on public discussion boards.

1. you led to the ban

2. i could be slick, but it isnt required here.

3. No need for that, it glares and it burns me eyes.

1) Again with the assumptions. Please explain how.  At least this sounds better than, "why are you replying me after banning me."

2) okay o

3) huh?  Tongue

4) have you notified the "programmer" about the contact page?  even if the site is coming down, I think the person should be aware so that a similar mistake doesn't take place on future projects.  It could cost some major dough

1. {0}  ooh youve returned my post, haha

2. {0}

4. i dont want to get into "external/internal issues"
i left the company, so it isnt my business what happens next.
im sure by now, they know whats up, though i understand what you mean.

5. The only reason i put up that link, was to show design=purpose, not just 'graphics'
<role of web designer> since you have refused to read the context of my posts

1) Again with the assumptions. I don't control what is flagged neither do I have ability to "un spam" posts

5) Next time, put up a screenshot.  Posting a link = you stepping knee deep into "it".  You gave yourself the rope you used in hanging yourself by posting the link, IMHO.

Dude you are just babbling

no one asked for your CV.

i am an engineer too

CSS, Javascript >> programming to me.

Don't have a CV so can't even give one if asked to. I highlighted certain things that will make any one understand that learning and understanding anything is just a matter of interest.

You left the company? I hope it's not based on the unworkable design you provided?

In any case if I take you up on the design of that website you would weep because your work shows that you are still trying to understand the basics.

Thanks for proving me right and showing everyone that though you can brag in reality you cannot do a decent design work even when working in a team and yet you have the audacity to talk about jack of all trades when this jack of all trades can do better than you even in your own area of expertise.

I am looking for a good web designer that I will pay very well but where are they? Ever since some people starting bragging about design on this thread not a single one of them has been able to design a reasonable thing and yet such will be the first to run their mouths like ruptured pipes.

1. If you and you team came up with that then if you are asked to do it yourself then it will be world war 3.

2 No, it was not a mistake. That was a deliberate thing God allowed you to do so as to humble you.

3. For someone using multiple usernames on this forum what can I say?

He he, now you are entering semantics and philosophy/logic.  By saying you made a mistake, you are admitting to it.  Still having problems accepting?

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/admit (focus on #6) - Thus, whether you are denying it or not doesn't apply.

After 80 posts and 250 views, I would say we leave it here.  Many are YIMming me.  The general consensus is that you are damaging your credibility/reputation.  Of course, if you insist, by all means continue.

My reputation/credibility?  LOL.
if it was that serious, i wonder why 'they' are not IMing me.
Who are the 'they' kpa kpa, why are 'they' credible, what reputation do 'they' have.

I would tread carefully here.  You might be opening another pandora's box here.  Maybe there is a reason why they aren't IMing you, a reason you probably don't want made public.

Of course I won't stoop so low as to publish their off the record comments  Wink

1. 'Find out more' link not working

2. 'About us' link contains NOTHING

3. 'reviews' link not working

4. poor choice of font

5. font display needs work: padding, justification, indentation and color.

6. 'onspeed help' link not working

7. 'forgot your password' link leads to a BLANK page with a textbox and a submit button

8. Logo is not a link that leads to the home page

Re: Quick Review For A Website
« #87 on: September 20, 2009, 04:52 AM »

Thanks. Please see responses below.

1. 'Find out more' link not working

--- Points to an external link, javascript problem that makes it work on chrome but not on firefox or IE.

2. 'About us' link contains NOTHING

--- Information is yet to be made available

3. 'reviews' link not working

--- Same as no 1 above

4. poor choice of font

--- This is subjective so I won't attempt to justify or defend

5. font display needs work: padding, justification, indentation and color.

--- Same as no 5

6. 'onspeed help' link not working

--- Same as no 1

7. 'forgot your password' link leads to a BLANK page with a textbox and a submit button

--- To be honest, a pop up with even a small size would even do considering the usefulness of the forgot your password page. I am for functionality any day so nothing wrong with a simple task being done the way it was implemented

8. Logo is not a link that leads to the home page

--- This is not compulsory as you have a Home link that is consistent across all pages. I really don't agree with what people say or do on the web, I stick with what works that is why I usually have debates with quite a number of people.

So, thanks for your observations. Will definitely work on those that must be worked on like the javascript related external links stuff and maybe making the forgot link page look like the rest of the pages if time permits (but not compulsory).
