i have also lost much and of recent, sent 50k to my mumsy to open a saving account for me and she used the money to go and buy shares, i almost cursed her because it was during the period of recession started in uk den, but it wasnt it naija.

naija recession is as a result of the bank ceo thieving culture, and manipulating the books thats why what is happening in naija today has happened. God help us all.

I escaped the snare of the fowler with profit.

I am not smart but na BABA save me.

Pls the world is changing and has changed so be getting out gradually from the fallen market.

Forget the old Capital and see the current value of your stocks as the new capital

e.g #1million in NSE in 2008 now #100,000 in 2009.

Set your target Value price e.g 5% increase and sell off.

This is penny stock trading if you are good and you still need info and revelations so as not to burn your fingers and faces again.

Also invest in Real Sector like Food, Agric, Real Estate and the Poor

Best of results.

The Nigerian capital market went down through corporate fraud and self deceit, it may take an insider to understand the details of it, so please stop using WARREN BUFFET theories to invest in this market!!!

If Buffet had invested in the Nigerian market, his investments would be worth papers right now,,,Nigeria's situation defies all theories!!!

What are you talking about? where there no corporate frauds, manipulations and deceit in the American financial sector? Have you heard the names; Enron, Worldcom? I strongly recommend you read House of cards. I have a copy to borrow you if you cant spend that much on a book.

i invested 250k into one of the private placement of ocean registrar call Geo fluid i have not heard anything from them i bought dangote worth 170k plus i have to sold them at meagre of 70k to pay my school fee.i have insurance and other stock that i sold and lose massively. It is a pity that we have found ourself into this mess that is why i would not advice any fellow here to invest in the stock be it bearish or whatever name it is coined. The so called speculators are no where to be found after spurious lies that have been feeding us on Success Digest and Finance Standard.I am really dejected but i have to take the bull by the horn to look for someone else to invest my money left with me.

Those of you lamenting and cursing, you violated a fundamental rule of investment which is not to risk money you can't afford to lose. Another mistake many of you made was to have invested without a strategy or exit plan.

Personally I have lost money too from the stock market but that is in very small amounts since I use an effective stock market strategy in cost Averaging.

The stock market offers the best return on any form of investment on the long term (I'm talking 20 or more years). Invest for the long term and short term woes will not bother you.

So much ignorance on this thread. . .
Someone even called investment on the stock exchange gambling . .

Becos we lost money doesn't mean sound reasoning should depart us as well. . .
Speak less about what you knoweth not much about.

There's nothing "NIGERIAN" about a stock market meltdown. Read the news and see what's happened in other countries. It's a global recession not a NIGERIANession.

Stop misinforming people!
