Manchester United Vs Man City: 4-3 (20 September, 2009)
« on: September 18, 2009, 12:06 PM »

Vs

Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United will be looking forward to the derby against Manchester City, hoping his team can dent City's perfect record and send them clear of their cross-town rivals in the table.
Man United have now won four straight since their loss to Burnley on August 19 and have posted a remarkable goal difference of 11-2 during that stretch.Their most recent victory came on Tuesday night in Turkey against Besiktas as United opened their Champions League campaign with three points. The long travel to Turkey will be a disadvantage heading into the match against City, but Ferguson has expressed his confidence in the media ahead of the match that his players will be fresh.Scholes, who was sent off against Tottenham, will miss the match through suspension. He will likely be replaced by Ryan Giggs. Rio is a doubt and if he misses out, Jonny Evans will retain his place, while Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Fletcher are likely to return .

Mark Hughes’ Manchester City side have started the season with four wins from four games and find themselves in third place, three points behind Chelsea, with a game in hand.Emmanuel Adegoat will miss the match due to a three-match violent conduct suspension picked up for his malicious strike on Robin van Persie.City's latest performance must surely mark them as realistic contenders to break into the top four this season. For once, they’re not the huge underdogs they normally are heading into the derby.Unforunately, though, Mark Hughes may face a selection headache for the Manchester Derby. Not only is Adegoat suspended, but Robinho, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez, and Benjani all look to miss out with injury, which means that Man City may be severly limited in their attacking options.

Manchester United won both meetings played between the clubs last season (2-0 at Old Trafford and 1-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium). The Red Devils are favourites, as they always are at Old Trafford, but this year's City squad is much better than it has been in previous years. Plus, the midweek match could have its effects on United. If Man City are able to field any of their key strikers who are struggling with injuries, then this match should be a very close affair.Either way, it should be a great game!

It's a derby, and citeh have had their fair share of upper hand over the red scum twats in the past, but for this one I just wish the two annoying clubs cancel out each other, but I'm afraid the red breed of the scums will defeat the blue breed

Uncle Krayola, let's even overlook the fact that City are outta strikers.  .  .there's more than just 3 points at stake here. United won't let City come wreak havoc on their home turf.
Still, the game will be tight 'cos Fergie has challenged Hughes to justify his massive spending.

Yeah but if the main purchases from this "massive spending" wont be playing, there isn't much to justify. Regardless, blood will flow at OT. RED BLOOD  Grin

Arab blood? we bleed $$$$.  Wink

We are winning on Sunday. Man Utd will lose at OT to a team that play like "dog poo". That says a lot more about Man Utd than it says about City.  Cool

We're a new team, with our stars injured, playing away against the defending champions. Not making excuses, just thought I'd throw that out there  Grin Grin

New team my butt. City thrashed the Arses 4-2, so ''new team'' doesn't stand.
Strikers missing.  .  .well, that might count.
Playing away against the defending champions.  .  .it's not like the defending champions are completely unbeatable at home, so that's null.

I would have placed my money on City.

Realistically,

It's harder to beat y'all at home. Especially when our entire 1st choice forward line is missing, add a world class winger to that and our  chances become even slimmer.

Again I'm not making excuses, just letting you know why us not winning this game wouldn't be a disaster   Cool Cool

King Ade is not playing so the formula has changed dramatically. YOu know in ancient times once you kill the King(chief) of the tribe e.g , the entire tribe's army surrendered because their allegiance was only to the chief. Well, this is kinda sorta the same thing, in a slightly different kind of way.  Grin Ade is dead as far this game goes so anything can happen.

Yeah, but we all know Arsenal are a joke. U are defending, defending, defending champs. . .Arsenal are aspiring, aspiring, aspiring, aspiring contenders. The difference is clearer than 7up.  Grin

All that aside, U guys should be beaten black and blue tomorrow!!!  Cool Cool
