But honestly speaking now, I dont know the sense that's there or what a lady derives in allowing guys see her body. It's arrant nonsense 'cos she's just making herself look useless. The guy gets the enjoyment after the show-off made by the girl and the girl gets the regret and pains.......so why the exposition?

At last someone is talking.

Y'all have been talking as though ladies need to dress like elaha(anyone knows the english word for that?).

There are definitely some cloths u'll wear that will cover your body but then, r a little bit revealing..and sexy in their own way...a way that'll make the guys gaga.

There are many other ways by which a woman can look sexy and still attract the attention of men but not necessarily by exposing what's meant for your husband alone to see and touch.

An extract from someone's comment since June

why in the world should a "lady" considering her african traditional values and culture go to the extent of showing all her valuables to the public just to get a boyfriend?

It's uncalled for.  Africans naturally are beautiful; we only need to come to appreciate our colour and natural endowments.  If at the end of the day a girl gets a boy who only admires her "burst" and her "buttocks" as she presented it to him and doesnt even love her as a person, she would surely live to regret it.  Because the love that is supposed to be for her personality is going to be just for her physical attributes and these are not what makes a human being.

I skipped to the end of all these posts to say this:

This argument can only exist because both men and women are treating women as sex objects - in this case, breasts as sex objects - objects to be desired, owned, protected, etc

If you don't sexualize breasts, it wouldn't be a problem - people don't complain as much about open toed shoes do they?

So, this argument is ridiculous.

What's even more ridiculous is the speculation that in 10 years women would be wearing almost nothing - as if women would continue to feel that they must remove more to be desireable and that men even after seeing more and more of the woman's body will still desire to be able to see more of it at a time.

The only plausible future in which this occurs is one where people freely engage in sex anywhere they please and sex is not seen as something bad, secret, private, or immoral.  In fact, this would probably be a better society than the one we are in now since people would no longer be objectified based on sex. . . though this kind of world offends our current sense of sexual morality.

@kamakula well said, people have problems with the female breast because they have equated them with sex only, i know guys who cannot stay  with a woman breastfeeding a child without being aroused sexually. in such case who is at fault? obviously the guy.

The bottom line is that people should control their feelings after all we all go to the bank and nobody grabs money in the bank just because money is exposed in the bank, so why rape a woman because she exposes her breast.people control yourselves, and what is this about slippers breast what ever type of breast a lady has is good for feeding a child wether it is a bee sting, sagging or pointing at her chin, nothing spoil breast is still breast, lets those ladies who are brave enough make themselves as comfotable as they can.

And this may come as a surprise, some men are turned off by exposed breast , some men are turned on by fully covered women they want to see what is concealed. and do you think that the man from Koma Hills is bothered by naked women?

every woman is free to express herself. it depends on each one's personality. like we have those who expose their bodies, we also have those who aren't capable of such act because they're shy! i think if a woman has a nice body there's no reason why she shouldn't dress attractive. those who really piss me off are those fatty bombom who dress like anoretic girls. ohh!! you see their fat bursting out the clothes! it's disgusting!

i don't believe any dignified lady will expose her body just to "feel comfortable". If you have a pretty body, then you should protect it and not expose it for the whole world to see. That's why the bossom too is regarded as a private part.

...also, it's very obvious that women who expose their bossoms are more subject to rape than those dressing decently. Why do you think Cossy is being targetted by rapists? When she first came on air and was so popular, it was heard that she escaped raped twice during that period alone (only God knows how many she escaped later or how many she actually fell victim for).

what you've just said is true but also false! it's true we should also protect our bodies..i mean expose it moderately...but i also need to feel sexy sometimes! and people don't think you're sexy when you dress like your grandma...

and for the rapist! not all bother if you're beautiful or not! they just want some flesh and to feel the owner of another person's body!

for you babyboys....just kidding! ok if a guy should ask me the reason why i dress sexy..i'll respond this is my style! never generalize. we also have women who don't dress sexy at all... i mean if you feel that dressing hot will make you feel better..why not?

Must we value breasts so much? So what if some people choose not to conceal their true appearance. Is that so bad?
The only problem that exists is the eluded people that value the concealed breast so much, that when they see a free spirited women bearing her true nature, they fear for the artificial fabric of their 'modern society'. Grin
