1) Is it possible to turn off the animation for at least the advert section to the right? With stuff fading in/out of the header and stuff fading in/out of the adverts, I find it rather distracting.

2) http://www.nigerianspellingbee.org/images/banner.jpg - Is Nigeria now composed of white people or is the event going to feature white people yet be hosted in Nigeria?

3) Check d validation on this page: http://www.nigerianspellingbee.org/users/add/school

password, email, phone number aren't validating properly.  It also wouldn't hurt to first validate on the front end, to prevent many hits (which I just did) to your server(s).

Am not gonna criticise your website like some people, that is not the purpose of your question, how ever I am strugglilng to understand what to do when I go on the site.

Maybe you should be more clear and, please get rid of pictures of all the white people it won't help you.

Sometimes, it seems we just want to disagree with people for the sake of doing so. Or, we are usually guilty of what we accuse others of doing.

Read the following carefully.

Then read this, by the same person on the same post.

Is the last quote not criticism? Why are we waging war when there is no need to wage any?

Right @Afam, take your time to understand what I am trying to say, i am not having ago at the website or criticising what it looks like or what so ever. I am telling the poster that I don't really follow what he his trying to do, what is the purpose of this website, perhaps much more description of what he his trying to do on the home page will help so as a first timer on the website, i can grasp is point. End Off.

kolitos:
based on post #4, you got caught.   You acknowledged as much (as indirectly as it may have sounded) in post #5.  You also got caught a 2nd time (post #10).

Just deal with it and move on.

well fellows, i have read all your feedbacks , and i consider it very helpfull. the site is just been test runed. if u ever heard of the spelling bee it what we intend on doing for nigeria secondary students, give some an oppurtunity most of us did not have.
Its finaly going to be a social network, where you all can create profiles like facebook and interact while i help build profiles for schools and eventually websites.
I am ReinventRebuild, and i yes i have white partners as Jugdes for the nation wide competition.
By next week i would be uploading the final stages for the site, and maybe change a few pictures or would i say add nigerian pictures to it.

I am just tring to help, a country i love so much, so pls go soft on me.

I am ReinventRebuild, a son of the soil. that next generation of young people going to bring Change. pls jion me in my thinking and see how i make this all possible.

RR, Thanks for finally responding.

Your vision is a commendable one  and I applaud you for it.  Having said that, since you posted, I feel it is a duty to guide you as much I can in the right direction, distractions aside.  In fact, it reminds me of a time in my JS1 when, while eating in the cafe, the dining hall prefect asked us to spell Mississippi, the winner getting an extra plate of food.  5 people tried and got it wrong and the skinny babe that I am, I remembered the age old song that teaches you how to spell it, sang it in my head, got up, spelled it right and got the extra plate  Tongue

There is nothing wrong with having white people on your site.  It is just a matter of where you place them.  As you have said, they are judges.  If you however look at the context within which you have the white people in your banner, they look like people clapping for someone who gave a right answer.  If they are judges, then put them on the "judges" page.

Again, nothing wrong with that but from someone who lives abroad, I can tell you that 95% of the time or more, whites will never use a black person to sell their product (even when the owner of the busines/venture is a black person) so it amazes me how we are quick to use whites to sell our products.

I hope you understand.  Kudos and good luck!

Thank you Yawa ti de, and to everyone.   For understanding where my minds at.
I know how u feel about white people, but well I look at the human race as equals, and we. should be opened minded, and look at the big picture. Its not about race but tring to fix the nation in our own little way, hopefully others would folllow.
Don't worry about the pictures its all just been test runed right now. As soon as we get schools registered we would apply them,
I am really not the agruing type,  I love to listen to what everyone has to say, and learn from it.
This is how I do what I have to do, to play my path as a nigerian and to the human race, we should all stop for a moment; put aside all the problems the country and you in person are going through . Look yourself in the miror; and ask, what can I do to help my contry?

LOL, this is the funniest thing I have ever heard, its my own version lol, please can you explain to me how it is possible for you to have 4 fingers pointing back at you, ok why don't you get a mirror sit in front and point at the mirror, if its too hard for you to understand that you can't have 4 fingers pointing at you, oh even if its to hard for you , why don't you google it, its every where when you point your finger you get 3 pointing back at you, sorry mate, try to get the point, maybe you need to get out more.

@RR Group, well done with what you are doing, I think what you are doing is positive and should be acknowledged, please if you want to discuss on pointers on marketing your thing and also the sort of things that should be on the site you can PM me. I would like to help you really, for me there its not about money, I like people  that are trying to do positive things for the country.

Please try and provide more information on the home page that will give people a better idea of what you trying to do, please note, this is not a criticism, but an advice.

kolitos:
what about those with "k-thumb"?  Tongue

On a serious note, when it comes to proverbs, idioms, etc. you can't take every word literally.  If you say otherwise, then I will say that you are smoking a controlled substance for taking the following literally:

1) Get off your high horse
2) He who laughs last laughs best
3) When in rome, act like romans
4) Today is a red letter day

I could go on but this isn't an english board Wink
