@Topic

If for nothing else, this strike has achieved one thing.It has really exposed the nonchalant attitude of those at the helm of affairs to the plight of the masses.Of course, we all knew this but this strike has really exposed them for what they really are and as much as i am sorry for those caught up in this, i commend ASUU for sticking to their guns this time.These "leaders" or rather dictators have been used to having their way through outright bullying (e.g NLC,former ASUU strkes and so on).How can you tell people to get back to work when the actual reasons for the strike haven't been met?The money they give out to just one of their numerous girlfriends and concubines is more than enough to settle the ASUU issue.ASUU should not let the "government" bully them into submission.Keep up the fight.

Hmmmmmm! to think that our universities unleash people like the poster as graduates every year
on the rest of us is really unsettling and defies logic. Shocked Shocked Shocked :

come to think of it, why no comments from unilag (under)graduates so far?
quite agree with showbobo that poster may just be masquerading!

@showbobo, it's insulting to say poster is an FCE student; more like nomadic school.

I think ASUU strike has it disadvantage as well as advantage. i think what we should jst do is to look towards its advantage by equiping our self positively learning new skill and try to start a business no matter how small instead of saying is boring or just sleeping and waking up everyday.

ASUU's demands will never be met, i'm sure we can all see that private Universities are springing up each day, the kids of the rich either go abroad or attend these ones which "the rich" own or have shares in. So whatever the masses are thinking, nobody cares.
Most private Uni's resumed last week or so. they don't know wat it feels like to have your kids loitering,  take LASU for an example, the strike started just before they were to start 2nd semester exams. ppl in their final years who had hope to go for service / go for masters e.t.c have all had their plans ruined, and they don't know when this will end, they're just on a standstill, and even if the ASUU strike is called off, LASU still has their own internal problems,  Can u imagine the VC getting to his office meeting a BIG "adogan" ( meaning large pot in yoruba) of "ebo"( sacrificial meal) in front of his office??? Shocked Shocked Shocked.

As far as i am concerned, the nation doesn't care, the members of ASUU who have kids in these institutions won't let their kids waste away by fighting for a cause. It only means that our government is insensitive to the cries of its people. So as intellectuals that we see them to be, there should be another means of grabbing the gov by the balls, rather than the ancient downing of tool strategy. ( any members of ASUU can PM me for advise)
basic,,  call off the strike, go back to work!!
