Phone Tip of the Day: how to Block Your Caller ID
« on: November 26, 2005, 12:21 AM »

yes oh, this na the phone tip of the day "how to block your caller ID". that is to say, calling someone without him knowing that it's you who's calling. On his phone instead of a number he'll see stuff like "private number". the conventional way to do this is to go to your phone's call settings and change stuff. but you can also type your number like this and it'll work (well for MTN and Glo sha, don't know about others) #31#08036135788 instead of 08036135788.

have a go at it, and enjoy. it's for all ya creepy flashing and calling peeps.

I am unable to see how this feature can be used for legitimate purposes - most of us don't like being called or flashed by anonymous persons.

Folks, you know what? I was highly embarrassed one day in the process of hiding my number.

There was this guy I admired alot but never wanted him to know, so from time to time I would call to hear his voice,
after doing it for a while, to my shock, one day he said hello angela, I passed out immediately ! (If you know what I mean ladies).

Some have that access ineffective, Be careful !

Hi my peeps,

PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE - VERY IMPORTANT WARNING

If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that, he
or she is a company engineer, or telling that they're checking your mobile
line, and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number.  End this call
immediately without pressing any numbers.  There is a fraud company using a
device that once you press #90 or #09 they can access your "SIM" card and
make calls at your expense.

Forward this message to as many friends as you can, to stop it.  All mobile
users pay attention if you receive a phone call and your mobile phone
displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call, END THE CALL
IMMEDIATELY, if you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a virus.
This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and
your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the
telephone network.  You will have to buy a new phone.

This information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia. There are
over 3 Million mobile phones being infected by this virus in all around the
world now. You can also check this news on the CNN web site.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS PIECE OF INFORMATION TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS HAVING A MOBILE
