Vs

Vito Mannone was the star performer for the Gunners at Craven Cottage on Saturday but the young Italian is unlikely to be as busy against the Greek giants as Arsenal look to build on their comeback win at Standard Liege in their first Champions League group game.It didn’t take the Gunners very long to get back to winning ways after defeats against both Manchester outfits within the space of a week. Victories over Wigan Athletic (4-0) and Fulham (0-1) will have rejuvenated the Arsenal ranks and, in combination with their sensational 3-2 comeback against Standard Liege on match day 1, should steer them towards their second victory in Group H.Arsenal have been playing extremely well all season despite losing to both Manchester United and Manchester City within a short space of time. They could have won either or both of those games and, although the result wasn’t anything they could or will write home about about, there were still positives to take from both encounters. Their young side is rapidly maturing and becoming of age, their passing is as swift and clinical as ever, while their attacking play is up there with the very best. With Arshavin back from Injury and walcott expected as well, and the likes of Dudu,RVP and Rosicky in the fold ,this is no doubt a sure win for Arsene's Young squad.

The perennial winners of the Greek Super League (five consecutive seasons now) made headlines across Europe when they sacked Temuri Ketsbaia prior to their first Champions League group game at home to AZ Alkmaar. The former Newcastle striker had only been appointed in May and did not even preside over a competitive defeat.Brazilian legend Zico has taken over and Olympiakos will be confident of qualifying from Group H after winning 1-0 against AZ in their first game. The former Japan and CSKA Moscow coach has a host of familiar faces to call upon as well as some attacking talent that could try to trouble Gallas, Vermaelen, Sagna and Clichy. A few familiar faces will embrace The Emirates stadium as Matt Derbyshire, a former Blackburn player, and Olof Mellberg, a legend in the eyes of some Aston Villa fans, look set to play some part against the Gunners. However, Arsenal will need to be wary of the threat posed by both Midfielder; Luciano Galletti, and Brazilian forward; Diogo. The former is pivotal to all that’s positive about Olympiakos’s forward play while Diogo is a strong and very clinical Brazilian forward with Diogo persistently linked with some of Europe’s big clubs during the summer. The one exciting prospect to keep an eye on is Vassilis Torosidis, a 24-year-old Greek international who already has over 23 caps to his name. He scored two goals against AEK Athens last week, one of which was a real cracker and despite being well established in the Olympiakos side could well play in an attacking role despite establishing himself as a right-sided wing back for his club and a left-sided defender for his country.
