information reaching my desk confirm that the Nigerian Student Associations are planning a peaceful protest that will put the government of Nigeria in a rethink on 1st October2009. Every student are hereby inform not to participate in the government independent parade Rather to come out & join the protest against government misgoverning.
The rallies is said to be starting from two points of call which are Lagos and Benin.
This is going to be the greatest Nigerian student & youths rallies.
According to the student report, Placard displaying "Sam Egwu Must Go" & suchlike will be waved over the air.
The demands of student include the followings:
1. Immediate signing & implementation of the agreement between F.G. & ASUU, SSANU, NASU, NAAT.
2. Cancellation of the proposed N180, 000 tuition fee hike
3. Payment of N40, 000 cost of study allowance (C.O.S.A.)
4. Adequate funding of educational system up to 26%
5. Democratic running of school & inclusion of student union representative in decision making
6. Recall of victimized student activists & banned unionism should be restored
