Tension In Rivers State: Pdp Gubernatorial Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi Arrested
« on: December 16, 2006, 03:20 AM »

The Rivers State government was yesterday under tension with the arrest of the Speaker of the Rivers State house of assembly and PDP gubernatorial candidate Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

Hon Rotimi’s arrest came on the heels of the investigation into the ownership of Arik air and the misuse of N100 billion state funds. According to our sources Hon Rotimi Amaechi had been warned of the impending arrest but disregarded calls by his hench men to go into hiding. Our source in a telephone interview with NigerianInsider.com, said “Hon Rotimi said the rumours of his impending arrest was from Prince Uche Secondus, Rivers State PDP chairman and would not take it to heart”.  Read the rest of this article here : http://nigerianinsider.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=2

But it goes to show that the efcc is really working. Rivers state has suffered from under-development for 7 + years and d man in d saddle has managed to surround himself wit cronies such as amechi who even with glaring scenarios of inefficieny as well as maladministration will choose to turn a blind eye due to there own personal ambitions. I dey siddon look cause the show will get much more interesting in the coming days

EFCC is working. What I'm not sure of is how real it is!

The arrest of Amaechi is just one way of distabilising Odilli and probably putting a bit of fear in him. Why would the "powers that be" want Odilli shaken being that he's been seen as "annointed" for so long? Why would Odilli, despite all the money he's spent campaigning, suddenly withdraw from the presidential race? He's been sufficiently threatened, that's why!

Why is he being threatened all of a sudden? Surely, EFCC isnt just realising how much of a thief corruption there is in the state. Forget all this Arik talk. I'm sure they didnt just discover it.

Odilli has finally outsmarted himself. He was the brain behind the 3rd Term Opposition (while pretending to fight for it!). How two-faced eh? Unfortunately for him, money changed hands btwn him and the wrong person and Baba got to know about it but didnt do anythin about it till now! This is just the beginnin of Odilli's troubles.

As we will say, e don be-zzle for am!
