Ume Top Scorer Get Government Scholarship.

Miss Irene Edem, the highest scorer in the last Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB)'s University Matriculation Examination (UME), has been awarded university scholarship by the Cross River Government.
Governor Liyel Imoke, who signed the approval in July said "she is at liberty to study in the country or overseas."
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Offiong Offiong, disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Calabar.
According to him, "The governor has approved scholarship for Edem. We have written to her parents about it and promised to help her."
