Police Nab Three Suspects Over Murder Of Hunchback Woman

Na wa o. Look at mans inhumanity to man at its peak. How can people be this wicked, ignorant, backward and demonic. They think she has money lodged in the hunchback or the hunch translate to wealth via voodoo. Why did they not just kill a camel; afterall its got mighty hump. Hope the culprits are brought to book and face death penalty.


Who killed a 22-year-old hunchback woman, whose corpse was found in an abandoned building at Iragbiji, headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State in the early hours of last Wednesday?

This is the question which the police in Osun State are working to unravel. Already, three persons had been arrested in connection with the murder of the woman, while the police were yet to arrest the ring leader of the suspects (names witheld) said to be a member of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) at Iragbiji.

The police said that although, they had recovered the hunch of the woman from the suspects, the corpse was, however, yet to be recovered from where it was buried.

Police sources said that the 22-year-old hunchback woman, Taibat Oseni, was kidnapped at about 10.30 p.m., on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from her house by the suspects, while her cry for help attracted the attention of a vigilante who chased the suspects to an abandoned building owned by a prominent politician in the town.

The residential building was said to have been abandoned more than 15 years ago. The woman was said to have been killed by the suspects, who cleverly removed the hunch from her back.

It is so pathetic. The number of people that have died needlessly because of one ritual or the other. Unbelieveable!!!
The Government needs to start on a campaign to raise awareness about this menace [unless they are part of the menace and encourage ritual killing]. There should be some form of control on the practices of native doctors. They are not and should not be above the law. Murder either directly or otherwise must be punished.
