Urgent Asp.net Problem

I'm not a newbie to programming per say, but I have certain difficulties. I am using Visual Studio.NET 2008 and I am trying to tie a textbox control (ASP.NET) to a datbase field in SQL server. Please can anyone help with this?

Also, how to tie other types of controls to database fields

I have a project that depends on this. If you can, please let me know how

Well, i'd never seen 2008 interface, but 2005 is my daily work area.
All I do is to create a class and have methods for every operation like inserting and others where i use SQL parameter for the all the controls inputs.
whenever i call the method, the controls' value would the supplied as arguement to the method which inturn do the require operation on the value.
