I just had to post this because i've had enough. Im 22 years old and has been somewhat bombarded by Nigerian men who are married. The worst so far happened at a Nigerian Independence Day party out here in L.A. where i was stalked by this married man. This is not the first time that this has happened to me and a lot of my friends go through this as well. Recently a friend was called all night by a man that was doing business with her company. She had to call her phone company to change her phone number because he left threatening messages saying that he will come after her if she doesnt mess with him.
Back to my case, this man told me that he and his wife was at the parade earlier and he had seen me and he was so excited to see me again. I told him i dont date married men or men with girlfriends and he told me it wouldnt be a problem he can hide it from his wife well. The thing is that he wasnt the first guy that is married to hit on me that day. I've been through the same thing at other nigerian parties.
Why is it that Nigerian men are so unfaithful, im so mad that i dont even want to marry one because im scared i will be in the place of the wives on day. I dont dress provocatively, im more on the conservative side but like a normal 22 year college student would dress. I hate to say it but i think people accept this behavior in our community because its so common.
UPDATE
I dont like dating Black guys(African American and West Indies) because they are for the most part cheating or players or psychos and the few that are good are already taken. I've dated 4 guys in life 2 were African Americans, 1 was Latino, and recently i dated this nigerian guy that was at my school. Now the reason i chose Nigerian men is because in the States Nigerians put themselves on a pedestole compared to Whites and African Americans. We think that we are well behaved and can do no wrong. They say oh we dont have as much divorce but then at all these places they are hitting on young girls to mess with on their wives. I dont mind being approached by Nigerian guys around my age or at least single but married one? come on? A lot of these guys got young kids and a beautiful wife at home. Im sure that those guys would leave their wives if they find out that they were messing with younger guys or any other guy for that matter. Why cant we do better?.

Girl I feel you, at my uni all the Married 9ja men are cheating on their wives. And they use the same old recycled bullshit line "Its not working with my wife" One of them said his father forced him to marry the girl  and he doesnt love her mind you he had only been married for less than 9months God help us when we get married. Its like they dont believe in the institution of marriage anymore. Why get married if you know you are going to mess about. |

The problem is not that they bother with marriage its the reason why they choose to: 1. family pressure/they're getting old/they need a cook/some woman pressures them/the WOMEN THEY MARRY DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO AS LONG AS THEY HAVE "A MAN" AND A dcik TO PLAY WITH AT NIGHT. seriously, Some of these women know that they are players AND MARRY THEM ANYWAYS. |

I don't doubt the poster lots of nigerian married men cheat though some don't and the worst part is the society praises them rather than frown at it.It's so bad even my landlord was like i should organise him some chics i'm like dude am 23 you're 42 wtf shud i contribute to someone's infidelity.And his wife is nice and beautiful.Most of his friends see him as the chairman but i see them as some bunch of weaklings who have been brainwashed by immoral societal values.It's so f u c k e d up now that faithful and truthful pple are the crazy ones and the infidels are the sane one.I think to myself in a world where 90% are crazy with 10% sane,it would reach a point that being crazy will be normal and being normal will be seen as being crazy.Lagos is a good example now a virgin is frowned up.So i say f u c k western influence and nigerian mentality.Have a mind of your own.

Marry Me Just kidding with you I agree with the bolded sentence. Its crazy how society is spiraling out of control. We are following the western world but things are crazy in the west with 50% divorce rate, immoral kids who start messing about before their teens, teenage mothers, the list is endless. God help us. |

Well I never thought I'd say this to you, but youre right. Youre sooo right, Im like  60% of the mothers in our society need to be taken one by one and flogged because when a woman asks God for a child, the only thing HE demands of her is that she be a Mother. Its apalling, the job mothers do nowadays. They bring up their boys to think women are glorified housewives and bring up their daughters to think their lives are not complete until a ring is sitting on their finger. Whether they marry a useless thief or not doesnt matter. The women just want to tie Asoebi. @Poster, dont get frustrated. The problem seems to be you. Youre answering them in the first place. You dont know the easiest way to get rid of a man is to ignore him? His pride wont beable to take it if you ignore him and he'l walk away fast. You, youre going into explanations of how you dont date married men? Pretty naive, cos black men pride themselves on their ability to convince women into dating them. Ignore them and you'l see the way they'l reduce. Society accepts it because tradition permits polygamy in many cultures, so the only way for you to fight it is in your corner. As one poster said, the guys probably think you look gulible enough and so they approach you. With time, if you ignore them enough, you'l get this look on your face everytime a married man approaches you that'l tell him straight up, youre not one of those girls. This is experience talking girl. Many of our men are useless. They see an innocent looking girl and instead of leaving her as clean as she is, they always seem to want to soil you. Most people will cheat on their married partners. Period. The point is that many Nigerian men do it like it is a job. It is just different with a lot of Nigerian men. Just admit it. The sort of men the young lady is talking about here do it over and over and over again and they feel no shame or remorse about it. The first step to fixing a problem is admitting that it does exist.
