I am among the majority of people who are of the opinion that Siasia should be the coach of the super eagles, considering his performance in he world youth championship and the olympics, but his recent performance in Egypt has dented his respected record as a coach,.
Amodu on the other hand is struggling to qualify us for 2010 world cup, in a group that we should have had a easy ride. If we call for a foreign coach, that too has its own troubles.
Should Nigeria qualify or fail to qualify for 2010 world cup, I still think Siasia should be given the job of coaching the super eagles. What do you think?

Wrong, attitude is a reflection of leadership. The coaches have a large chunk of the blame pie. On a seriuos note I will like to see how SIASIA comes out of this. Every good coach must learn how to rise after a fall. Sincerely this might end up being a blessing for Sia1 as it will help him take a deeper look and correct his weak areas too. If not for pride on the part of NFF (NO FOOTBALL FUTURE) I would have suggested Westerhof with Sia1 as his assistant to start building for 2014.

Nigerian's problem is multi-dimensional,and no one is saying it is coaching alone even though it is part of the problems we need to fix.Even if everything is working fine and you put the wrong person as coach of the Super Eagles, he will still make a mess of things,or don't you think that as bad as things are a good coach would have qualified Nigeria for the world cup and we will not find ourselves in the situation we are in presently?

Good coach don't necessarily need to be a past or ex national national team player. Good coach is like a good chess player with good analytical skill, very few of our ex players are educated and posses this skill. From what i saw yesterday i cant make much difference between Amodu and Siasia not because we lost, but because of the approach. A good coach would have be on his feet, organising his players from touchline, when we even have a numerical advantage speaks volumes of his understanding of the game, he should have easily marked them out with one man advantage.
Foreign coach?, no, out of it. if you ask me Westerhoff was a failure, what he achieved was nothing compared to what indegeneous coaches with crude training materials and lack of fund achieved. He had a good sponsored campaign throughout his stay as our national team coach. We can get a good coach from our university graduates that read sports education like Jose Mourinho, or Institute of sports graduates. These set of people have passion and have good analytical skills. we have been loosing matches because our coaches are dumb and cannot reason faster than the tempo of the live matches they are coordinating.

o ga gan o, when is nigerians going to learn? all the time we clamour for change of coach, but most of us support one or two clubs in europe you never clamour for the removal of the coach immediately the lost major match.as the club mgt will not even change the coach e.g united , aresenal). the coach need time to get things right we should try and always exercise patience with them. amodu, siasia, they are good caoch as am not in support of any foreign coach, they are here to chop out money and they will be acting like original but they are fake in there land,
we should give our coach approapriate support whether loss or win. imagine man-u lost out in first round of champions league 05/06 season , but 06/07 they entered semi-final, 07/08 they win the it, 08/09 final again, feggy still reamin o,

you spoke my mind. siasia's performance so far has impressed me as a person and i think it's high time we gave him the job but not without making sure that the FA has very limited interference in his job. the case is simple - draw out a detailed job description for him with a long term result (- 4yrs at least) in mind and periodically evaluate his performance based on same.

Siasia should groom his present squad into the super eagles. the current crop of chickens should be disbanded pronto(he may add maybe one or two out of the current set, like osaze, vincent), but he shouldn't make any of them the captain of the team. sia1 seems to me to be the only person who can instill discipline into the nigerian team, and his best bet is to groom his present crop of players. agreed, they might look a bit flustered and have no idea, but with training and grooming, these lads look a promising bunch.

SERIOUSLY SPEAKING I THINK A FOREIGN COACH SHOULD HANDLE US WHILE SIASIA UNDERSTUDY HIM FOR AS LONG AS THE COACH REMAINS THERE.KALIKA (SIASIA ASSISTANT FROM HOLLAND)SHOULD ALSO BE PART OF THE CREW.
WE NEED SOMEBODY THAT THE USELESS EAGLES PLAYERS CAN OBEY AND FEAR JUST LIKE WAT IS HAPPENNING IN ENGLAND NATIONAL TEAM.
EVERY ENGLISH PLAYER FEAR CAPELLO EVEN ROONEY.

see amodu has not lost a match we should not crucify him. if Siasia goes there then he wil spoil d good name he has built.
we are not suffering from bad coach but bad management.
the management influences d coach on players that will play and with this Nigeria is going no where. the current squad of the super Eagles has only 4 players that merited to be there while other will be shown the door and young growing guys should be given chances to prove themselves.

Wow, where do i even start? first of all, if it is true that you have to be on the touchline during the game, then why is Fabio Cappello such an excellent coach afterall, you hardly see him on the touchline. Besides, if England that invented football have a foreign coach, then why can't we. Nigeria's educational system is an utter failure, so stop saying rubbish. Your comments are so ignorant so i don't have time to answer all your questions.

AMODU HAS NOT LOST A MATCH, and He hasn't even crashed out of the world cup qualifiers yet. What if He eventually makes it to the world cup and plays in the semi's for say 3rd place, I HOPE WE ALL GET IT!! o.k. hold your fire, i'm only saying this is very much a possibility as much as him crashing out of the qualifiers so let's give him a chance to turn the tide:D

why not give the job to our home-bred Maradona 'IBB'. Afterall Diego, the original is Argentine coach .so we can copy them by giving it to IBB.That should keep him busy instead of this sudden 'regionalism' champion that he has become. He can fill up the whole team with a bunch of almajiris and abokis for all i care.
